Former India opener Wasim Jaffer has suggested that former India captain Virat Kohli needs to show some patience as he is searching for his old touch.
Kohli scored only 26 runs in 3-match ODI series against West Indies and in the first T20I at Eden Gardens he again got out on a score of 17.

“Every cricketer goes through this phase”- Wasim Jaffer
Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Wasim Jaffer stated that every cricketer goes through the bad patch in his career. He urged Kohli to show some patience to overcome this phase.
“I am sure he is working as hard behind the scenes as he has been doing all these years, and with the same intensity. But, every cricketer goes through this phase where he is unable to score despite trying his best.” Wasim Jaffer said
“Virat Kohli needs to show a little bit of patience. Once he breaks that barrier, I am sure we will see consistent scores from him again,” he added.

Kohli hasn’t scored a hundred in white-ball cricket since August 2019.
Jaffer also suggested that despite Ishan Kishan’s struggle in the first match, the team management should show faith in him. Jaffer defended the youngster by saying it wasn’t a huge target and everybody knows when he gets going, he is difficult to contain.
“Even though Ishan Kishan scored at less than a run-a-ball, I don’t think it is a cause for concern. We were not chasing such a big target (in the 1st T20I). We all know how he bats when he is in rhythm.
“I am sure Rohit Sharma and the team management will show faith in him, and they should. It was a one-off innings from Ishan Kishan. So I really don’t see any changes there,” Wasim Jaffer said.
Ishan Kishan scored 42-ball 35 but India eventually chased down the target of 158 with 7 balls to spare. Rohit Sharma gave India a fiery start with a cameo of 19-ball 40 while at the end Suryakumar Yadav 34*(18) and Venkatesh Iyer 24*(13) took the team home from a tricky situation.
