WWE TLC is just a week away from this Sunday. In general, the company announces the marquee matches in far advance of the show in order to meet the promotional purposes.

That tradition witnessed a change as, despite the pay-per-view being just around the corner, no matches have been officially confirmed for the show until this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon feels these shows should result in more network sign-ups and not pay-per-view buys.

Patterns of Network sign-ups reportedly indicate that subscriptions reach the highest on the last day of the show. So he feels there is no need to confirm matches far in advance. So this rule was applied for WWE TLC pay-per-view.

It was earlier reported that the top match being promoted for WWE TLC is a historic matchup. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair team up against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kairi Sane & Asuka in the first-ever Women’s TLC Tag Team Match for the show.

Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley is being speculated from WWE Raw whereas Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin in a TLC match is confirmed.

The ongoing storylines also suggest which matches may end up happening at WWE TLC. WWE has been building a rematch between WWE Champion The Fiend Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan. As noted by Meltzer, this match was set to be the main event match of WWE TLC.

The angle between the duo has become intense with times and there’s no way that the duo will put a halt to the storyline without a proper blow-off match. So The Fiend vs. The Miz can be considered as a one-off contest at WWE TLC.

WWE RAW is building towards matchup of Aleister Black vs. Buddy Murphy for WWE TLC. Also, chances are high that the RAW Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders will defend their titles against Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.

Additionally, more potential matches have been declared for WWE TLC where The New Day will defend the SmackDown Tag Team titles against Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson. Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura is reportedly going up against Braun Strowman.

From WWE Raw, Randy Orton vs. A.J. Styles and Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens should be there on the match card. WWE TLC emanates from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sunday, December 15th.
