Spanish giants Barcelona were one of the most inform clubs in Europe going into the previous season but they failed to lift either the La Liga or the Champions League trophy, which saw their manager Luis Enrique step down from the post at the Camp Nou.
They have already replaced him with former Athletic Bilbao man Ernesto Valverde and the new manager has already started looking for improvements in the squad.
He has some serious issues up his sleeve to solve at the Camp Nou this summer and there are very few more important than the future of one Andres Iniesta.
Arguably the best player in his position at the moment in Europe, Iniesta has won almost everything as a player and is in his final year of his contract with the Catalan giants.

At 33, he may have another year of professional football left under him but injuries have plagued his chance to play regularly for Barcelona for more than a year now.
His future is not uncertain, and he is expected to stay at the club at least for another year but reports today suggest that he does not have too long to decide on his future.
According to Spanish news publication Marca, Iniesta has been given a deadline till February next year to decide on whether he wants to stay in Spain or quit Barcelona.
The report claims that Iniesta, who will be out of a contract at the end of the next campaign, will not sign a contract extension any time soon.
He is expected to get through the first couple of months of the domestic league and if he feels that he is good enough to continue playing for the club, will extend his contract.

The numbers of years he has sparkled in Catalonia will give him the opportunity to decide his own future and it is understood that a Valverde is also happy to stick with him.
The fact that the World Cup will be played at the end of the next season will be playing on Iniesta’s mind as he has a chance to play for Spain, if he can keep up his good work with Barcelona.
But do you think Iniesta has what it takes to play for more than a year at the Camp Nou?
