WWE has now confirmed that this week’s SmackDown will be aired as per its usual schedule. There were some uncertainties around the show amid the Coronavirus outbreak. A shutdown mandate was issued for the entire state of Florida where the Performance Center is situated.

WWE confirmed that new Universal Champion Braun Strowman will usher in his new era during this Friday’s post-WrestleMania 36 edition of SmackDown on FOX.

As seen on the night II of WrestleMania 36, Braun Strowman defeated Goldberg after hitting four Running Powerslams to pick up his major maiden title.

Roman Reigns was the originally supposed challenger for Goldberg but Strowman ended up being his replacement as he backed out of WrestleMania 36 at the very last moment. Thus a new championship era begins this Friday on SmackDown,

WWE has also announced that a WrestleMania 36 rematch will go down on Friday’s SmackDown where the Kabuki Warriors Kairi Sane and Asuka will challenge the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss on.

The women’s tag belts changed hands on Night One of WrestleMania 36, where Bliss and Cross captured the titles from the two Japanese superstars who used to hold the belts. As per the below announcement, the former champions get another chance to have the belts back,

“Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross backed up their claim as deserving Women’s Tag Team Champions with a hard-fought victory against The Kabuki Warriors at WrestleMania 36. Now the two-time champions will have to turn around and prove it all over again.

Bliss & Cross will face Asuka & Kairi Sane in a rematch of the thrilling battle at The Showcase of the Immortals.

The WrestleMania rivalry between Alexa Bliss-Nikki Cross and the Kabuki Warriors are not likely to be dragged out. These two have had quite a few matches in the past and the feud should end on SmackDown with this remarkable. The new champions should retain and then move on to new defend the titles against new challengers.
