Rey Mysterio was present on last night’s WWE Raw to announce the stipulation for his match against Seth Rollins at WWE’s “The Horror Show at Extreme Rules” pay-per-view. It will be an “Eye For An Eye” match that is going to be a new entry in the illustrious list of gimmick matches that we’ve seen in the history of WWE. The match was declared following what transpired on last night’s episode of WWE Raw.
Monday Night Raw Tonight’s witnessed Rey Mysterio and Kevin Owens team up against Seth Rollins and Murphy in a tag team bout. The winning team had the privilege to pick the stipulation for Extreme Rules. Dominik was present at ringside who took a cheap shot at Murphy’s eyes allowing his father to connect with the 619. Rey followed up with a Frogsplash to pick the win following which the major announcement came.
Extreme Rules: WWE Plans ‘Terminator’ Themed Universal Title Match
As seen on the show, Rey Mysterio said he wants to take target Rollins’ eye out at the pay-per-view, as Rollins tried the same a couple of months ago. Thus the ‘eye for an eye’ match will go down at Extreme Rules that allow the winner to injure the opponent’s eye. F4wonline already reported that WWE played some dangerous eye stunt s during the feud of Mysterio vs. Rollins as they wanted to do the match from the very beginning.
WWE did conduct some beyond-the-boundary matches in the past at Extreme Rules which is infamous for gimmick-based matches. But taking out the opponent’s eyes after a match seems to be a new attraction for the fans. Also, getting this kind of match in WWE’s PG-era was unexpected.
WWE’s 2020 “The Horror Show at Extreme Rules” pay-per-view takes place on July 19 from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Here is the updated card after last night,
