WWE Raw Results (18/05/20): McIntyre vs. Corbin; Women’s Tag Title Match

The brand invitation rule began on this week’s episode of WWE RAW which came live with a cross-brand main event match. The WWE Champion was in action against a SmackDown Superstar. We expected to hear an update on Rey Mysterio’s injury whereas the Women’s Tag Team Championships were also on the line when WWE Raw aired with the latest episode from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Check out the results,

Randy Orton came out to open WWE Raw waiting for the answer from Edge for Backlash PPV. He went on a rant about the Hall of Famer until Edge’s music hit. They yelled at each other before Edge accepted the challenge. Orton dropped the mic and left the ring as the commentators confirmed Edge vs. Orton at Backlash.

Negative Update On Rey Mysterio’s WWE Career; Yet To Sign New Contract

Seth Rollins uttered some garbage things about hurting Rey Mysterio, last week before Humberto Carrillo appeared to stand up for Rey. He wanted to fight Rollins who instead allowed his disciple Murphy to compete. It was a short match where Rollins distracted Carrillo while doing a Springboard. Murphy’s Law got connected afterward to pick up the win. After the match, Aleister Black appeared to send Rollins and Murphy for a retreat.

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs Ruby Riott was the next match on WWE RAW where Charlotte ducked a Riott Kick from her opponent and locked in the Figure Four submission. She converted it into Figure Eight to pick an easy submission win.

Kairi Sane threw a celebration for the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. The two enjoyed their time in the decorated ring until Nia Jax crashed the celebration. Jax wasn’t happy about how Lynch handed her title to Asuka. After going on a rant, Asuka unloaded on Jax and delivered a hip attack to send her on the floor.

Bobby Lashley squashed R-Truth in a short match via submission after locking in the Full Nelson. MVP appeared on the ramp for a round of applause as we saw Lana throwing a tantrum, backstage on how her marriage with Lashley is falling apart.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles Match was next on WWE Raw between The IIconics and the champions, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Bliss hit a right hand on Kay and executed the Twisted Bliss. But Royce pulled her outside the ring and sent her thrice into the ring post. The referee disqualified the match as the champions retained.

Nia Jax slammed Kairi Sane into a production case to plant her down, backstage. Asuka came from the back and downed Jax by pulling her hair. She rocked Jax and sought redemption, right away.

A Submission Match was next on WWE Raw between Shayna Baszler and Natalya. Nattie locked in the Sharpshooter and the Knee Bar to punish Baszler. But the Queen of Spades came right back with her Kirifuda Clutch to secure the win.

The Kevin Owens Show returned on WWE Raw alongside the host with special guests Zelina Vega, Austin Theory, Angel Garza, and WWE United States Champion Andrade. Vega went on a rant on Owens who was trying to find dysfunction in his group. Apollo Crews made his return to attack Andrade for injuring his knee, last month. This set up a tag team match, right away.

Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens vs. Andrade and Angel Garza was the lineup on WWE Raw where. Vega distracted Crews but it backfired as Theory accidentally hit Andrade with a forearm allowing Crews to connect with a Sitdown Powerbomb on Theory for the victory. After the match, Andrade and Garza attacked Theory to disassociate him from their group.

Theory was still down by ringside during the next match on WWE RAW between Aleister Black and Murphy. While Black was looking forward to hitting Murphy with the Black Mass, Rollins ordered Theory to hit the ring. Theory attacked Black to disqualify the match. He hit an ATL on Black and hugged Rollins to become his new disciple.

Drew McIntyre vs. King Baron Corbin was the main event of this week’s WWE RAW where MVP and Bobby Lashley sat at ringside to have a good look at the match. McIntyre got caught in a Deep-Six by Corbin who then went to hit the End of Days. But McIntyre dodged it hitting a Glasgow Kiss Headbutt and followed up with a Claymore Kick to pick up the win. McIntyre celebrated with the WWE Title to send the show off-air.
