This week’s SmackDown started as the full drama of the Bloodline storyline from last week was shown where Paul Heyman tried to convince Jey Uso to stay with Bloodline and promised him that he would be the next Tribal Chief. He also got a United States championship match at the end of the night.
While having the match, Pretty Deadly came out to help the champion Austin Theory. Jimmy Uso entered to help his brother. Solo Sikoa also came out to take down Jimmy and Jimmy accidentally hit Jey with a Super Kick. It helped Theory to pick up the victory over Jey. Jey was frustrated with Jimmy at the end of the night.
WWE SmackDown 16.06.2023 Results Part 1, Bloodline Arrives, Tag Team Gauntlet Match
The show started as the Bloodline was seen arriving on Friday Night Smackdown. As they made their exit from the car, Kayla Braxton tried to have some words from them bhai asking them if Jey Uso would fall for the line. Nobody cared to answer her question, not even Paul Heyman.
Match 1 – Five Team Gaunlet Match To Determine No. 1 Contender For The Tag Team Titles – Pretty Deadly won the Gauntlet match
The Brawling Brutes defeated The Street Profits
This was the opening match to start the gauntlet which was booked to determine the no. 1 contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship and it was booked for only two and a half minutes. It was a little strange to see The Street Profits getting eliminated in the beginning of the match since they were two of the favourites. Sheamus pinned Angelo Dawkins with a Brogue Kick to win.

The Brawling Brutes defeated The OC
The next team to join and getting eliminated was the OC. They dominated the 5 minutes time that they were given in this match but once again it was pretty strange that they got eliminated early as well just like the Street Profits. Sheamus pinned Karl Anderson with a sudden Brogue Kick.
The Brawling Brutes defeated The LWO
The next match of the gauntlet was not even booked for 2 minutes and it was also a pretty easy victory for the Brawling Brutes. Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro represented the LWO in this match and it was never there game. Ridge Holland pinned Del Toro to pick up the victory to get into the next round.
The Brawling Brutes defeated The Hit Row
It did not take even 10 seconds for the Brawling Brutes to beat Hit Row. We were not being able to understand why they protected Hit Row till the end. Now after the elimination, we understand it. Sheamus pinned Top Dolla with the Brogue Kick as soon as he entered the ring. Michael Cole addressed Top Dolla as Flop Dolla in this match which was pretty surprising.
Pretty Deadly defeated The Brawling Brutes
The final match of the gauntlet went on for around 6 minutes and it was the best match of the contest. As expected, Pretty Deadly won but there is only one problem. Why did Brawling Brutes survive for such a long time? It was not needed at all. Pretty Deadly would definitely get a decent push.
