The show started as Daniel Bryan entered the arena with steel hair in hand. He said that he was the first man to make Roman Reigns tap. Roman said earlier that he would rather die but would not tap. But Bryan made him tap out at Fastlane. He condemned Edge for not letting him win the match and he did not care about the dream match between Roman and Edge. I demanded a rematch against Roman Reigns for the Universal champion on the same night.
Adam Pearce entered the arena and asked him to move on because he could not give him a rematch. Daniel Bryan proposed an idea where he wanted to get involved in a Universal title shot at WrestleMania. Before Pearce could reply Edge entered the arena and got inside the ring. Edge said that Bryan did not deserve to go to WrestleMania and addressed as the son of a bi***. Bryan attacked Edge and Edge knocked out him with a spear. Then he hit him with the chair.
WWE Smackdown Results And Ratings 26.03.2021
Match 1 – Seth Rollins defeated Shinsuke Nakamura
The match was given only a five minutes booking where Rollins beat Nakamura clean. He pinned Nakamura with a Curb Stomp. He was trying to hit another Curb Stomp on Nakamura but Cesaro came out and attacked Rollins. Rollins escaped somehow.
Backstage Cesaro attacked Seth Rollins and beat him down.
Match 2 – Apollo Crews, Chad Gable, and Otis defeated The Street Profits and WWE Intercontinental champion Big E
The match was given a booking time of fewer than five minutes. Not a very entertaining match, but it was good for the feud build-up between Big E and Apollo. Big E was pinned by Apollo after Apollo hit a Wrestling Hero Slam on Big E.
Kevin Owens was seen in the ring with the Kevin Owens show setup. He called out Sami Zayn as he said he had a question for him. Sami entered and apologized for attacking Kevin last week. He said he was in trauma after losing his match and he was sorry for what he did. He said that he could still be a part of the documentary that Sami was shooting about all the injustice stuff.
Sami said that next week he would launch a trailer for his documentary. He also revealed that famous YouTuber Logan Paul would be in the documentary too. Kevin Owens challenged Sami Zayn at WrestleMania and demanded an answer if he would agree to face him. Sami tried to convince him but Kevin only wanted an answer. Sami agreed finally and Kevin knocked him out.
Match 3 – Bianca Belair defeated Natalya
The match was given an eight minutes booking and WWE Smackdown Women’s champion Sasha Banks remained on the commentary table. During the match Sasha and Bianca exchanged words and Bianca slapped Sasha directly on the face. Bianca pinned Natalya with her Kiss of Death finisher. After the match, Sasha attacked Bianca and beat her down.
Roman Reigns was constantly seen in the locker room with different segments. Roman was saying that he should not be forced to battle twice at WrestleMania for the title. Adam Pearce also announced backstage that he would do the right thing by the end of the night.
Match 4 – Rey Mysterio defeated one half of the Smackdown Tag Team Champion Dolph Ziggler
This match was given a six-minute booking and it was quite entertaining, arguably the most entertaining match of the night. Rey Mysterio pinned Dolph Ziggler clean after a 619 and a top rope body splash.
Adam Pearce entered the arena followed by the Universal champion Roman Reigns along with Jey Uso and Paul Heyman. Edge and Daniel Bryan also came out in the ring. Adam Pearce agreed with Daniel Bryan was right that he deserved another opportunity and Roman was right too that he would only the title once at WrestleMania. So, Adam Pearce announced a triple threat match for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37 between Roman Reigns, Edge, and Daniel Bryan. Just after the announcement, Daniel Bryan attacked Edge. Roman broke into the scene as Edge nailed both of them with a still chair in hand. The show ended with Edge being the only strong man inside the ring.
This week’s Smackdown was pretty exciting with new matches and people have been added into WrestleMania. All the segments going to WrestleMania are given nice bookings and all the storylines are pretty fun to experience too. We would give it a solid 3 star out of 5. One star will be deducted for lack of matches, half star will be deducted because even with only four matches none got a booking of at least 10 minutes and a half star will be deducted for not presenting a good back story behind Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for WrestleMania.
