WWE Starrcade 2019 happened live last night at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia. It was basically a house show from which one hour of contents aired on the WWE Network.
Two big-time matches alongside the presence of a legend were the main attractions of the night.
Starrcade opened with the Kevin Owens Show where Ric Flair joined as the special guest. The Hall of Famer received big pop from the crowd while making his way down to the ring.
He was very thrilled to see his daughter in WWE and mentioned the likes of Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Sting who are the very best of this business.
Flair did his pendant ‘Woo’ chant with the WWE Universe until Gallows and Anderson interrupted and boasted about being the best tag team.
Soon The Street Profits arrived at the scene to start a tag team contest against these two as Flair watched from ringside.
Gallows and Anderson dominated the early part and tried to hit the Magic Killer but Montez Ford broke it up. Dawkins hit Anderson with a Spinebuster and tagged in Montez who connected with a Frog Splash off the top rope for the pinfall win at Starrcade.
The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka) defended the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, and Bayley & Sasha Banks in a Fatal 4-Way match.
Kairi hit Bliss with a Dropkick and followed it up with a Double Stomp for a near fall.
Sasha tagged in and hit a Suplex on Bliss to which Bayley followed up with a roll-up for another near fall. The action continued as Asuka hit Lynch with a German Suplex and Kairi followed it up with the Insane Elbow.
Charlotte cut them off with a double spear. Flair went for another spear but hit the turnbuckles. Asuka then locked in the Asuka Lock on Nikki Cross to retain their titles at Starrcade.
Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley was scheduled to happen at Starrcade with a Last Man Standing stipulation which was canceled. Lana informed that she has a restraining order for Rusev which does not allow him to compete.
Soon Kevin Owens interrupted and mocked Lana and Lashley’s relationship to set up the main event.
Lashley took on Owens in this match where the latter one took control with two Superkicks followed by a Cannonball. Lashley countered with a Flatliner followed by a Spinebuster.
Lana slid a chair into the ring to help Lashley when Rusev appeared to the scene to beat the hell out of Lashley and disqualify the match.
He hit Lashley with the chair a couple of times before sending him out of the ring. The crowd chanted ‘Rusev Day’ as Starrcade 2019 came to an end.
