Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has weighed in his thoughts about Rishabh Pant’s slam-bang approach as he feels that this is his way which gave him the desired results so it’s natural for him to go with the same flow every time.
Pant received a lot of flak when he played an airy-fairy shot in the very first against Phehlukwayo and was caught in the deep. Notable that Pant played a sensational knock of 85(72) in the second ODI which grabbed lots of attention.

Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav missed a big opportunity to become a hero, opined Gautam Gambhir
Gambhir said that the youngster should keep backing his approach and he will learn from his experience.
“You have to accept him the way he is. He will play match-winning innings but also play rash shots like today. If the management is patient to back a player like this, then we can see him getting more opportunities. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Pant will continue playing in the manner that he’s currently playing.
“He’s not someone like Virat Kohli, who will slowly build his innings. Yes, the team management can groom Pant to do that but it won’t happen overnight. It will take time,” Gautam Gambhir spoke to Star Sports in a post-match show.

Gambhir also opined that youngsters like Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav missed a big opportunity to finish the game for India as both of them got starts but failed to convert it to the big one.
“If someone like Kohli finishes the match, it’s just another day at the office for him. But we wanted to see someone like Shreyas or Suryakumar finish the match. Had either of the two finished the run-chase, one would have emerged as the winner of the middle-order competition,” he said.

Despite a blinder of a knock from Deepak Chahar 54(34), India fell short by 4 runs as the hosts wrapped up the series by 3-0.
