Fourth seeded India’s Yuki Bhambri came back from behind to defeat China’s favorite Di Wu 3-6,6-0, 7-6 (3) in a grueling two hours match. This is his fourth Challenger level title.

Bhambri lost his first set 3-6 tamely. In the second set, he came back forcefully and won 6-0 hands up.

The third set was grueling as he rallied to 5-5, but managed to pull through though he lost his service twice but Bhamri broke his opponent’s service four times.

As reported this morning Yuki had qualified for the finals as his opponent Russian Danhill Medvedev decided to withdraw from the contest in the semi-finals due to lower back problem yesterday when Yuki was leading 6-3, 3-0.

In the first round, Yuki Bhambri had defeated Zhang of China in straight sets 6-2., 6-3. In the second round, he beat another Chinese opponent Zhang in a keenly contested fight 7-5, 6-3. In the quarter finals Bhambri defeated fourth seeded Australian Thompson 6-2, 6-2 in a match that lasted for one hour and 11 minutes.

With this win Bhambri gears up for India’s Davis cup challenge with Czech Republic. Yuki Bhambri had a very good tournament and hopes to continue his great form in the Davis Cup tie.
