David Luiz Keen On Extending His Stint With Arsenal

Arsenal’s solid centre-back, David Luiz has no plans of leaving the London club as of now, Kia Joorabchian, David Luiz’s agent has informed the media. There has been a lot of talk going about David Luiz’s transfer to Benfica since his statements on his former club.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal paid £8m to Chelsea and £6m to “intermediaries to fix everything up”, in addition to Luiz’s annual salary of £10m. However, Joorabchian insists the figure of £6m paid to intermediaries to broker the deal is inaccurate.

In an interview with Sky Sports News on Sunday, Joorabchian insisted David Luiz did not want to leave north London, adding the club and player would discuss his future as soon as possible.

David Luiz Has No Plans Of Leaving Arsenal Anytime Soon

“He’s very happy at Arsenal,” Joorabchian said. “He has an extremely good relationship with both the coach and the sporting director. He has good relationships all throughout the club, right up to the owner. He respects everybody,” Joorabchian added.

“Arsenal had an option, which expired. We also had a pandemic [coronavirus]. So the option expired in the middle of the pandemic. We are all very aware of that situation and we are all trying, very slowly, to get back to this ‘new normal’, Joorabchian further said.

“David will sit down with Arsenal before the season begins, have his conversations and they will both decide if he will stay or not. That will come before the season starts. The chances are very high [of Luiz being at Arsenal next season]. There is no desire to leave,” Joorabchian added.

David Luiz Backs Virat Kohli’s Team India for the ICC World Cup 2019 Campaign

Ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019, it’s interesting to see footballers showing a keen interest in cricket. After England’s Harry Kane posing a selfie with Team India skipper Virat Kohli, the Brazilian footballer David Luiz, who represents Premier League club – Chelsea, has a heartwarming message for Virat Kohli’s Team India ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019.

The mega ICC event will commence on May 30 when hosts England will lock horns with South Africa in London.

Recently, Abhishek Bachchan has trolled Kohli for his selfie with Kane, who represents Tottenham Hotspur. Interestingly, Kohli is an ardent fan of Real Madrid.

In 2014, Kohli had received a coveted jersey from Chelsea football club when he arrived at the Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old Luiz, who has the potential to work out as the defensive midfielder, has traditionally made his name as a centre back.

Luiz, who dons jersey number 30, has wished all the best to Team India for their impending World Cup campaign in England and Wale.  The ace footballer has also thrown unconditional support behind the Men in Blue.

Well, India is eyeing their third World Cup after a successful campaign in 1983 and 2011 respectively.

“Hello, Virat Kohli — Good luck for the World Cup bro… God bless you a lot you and your team. I am gonna support you and your team. Okay, see you soon,” the footballer maintained in his nine-second video message.

Meanwhile, the marquee event will get underway with England vs South Africa game on Thursday (May 30) in London. However, India will begin their World Cup with their first game against the Proteas on June 5 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

Furthermore, Kohli has carved out a niche owing to his batting genius. The 30-year-old star batsman has been consistent for his team, and he has emerged as a remarkable player when it comes to chasing the targets.

Consequently, Kohli has a massive responsibility on his shoulders. Kohli’s representing India as a captain for the first time at the ICC World Cup.

With top-order fixed, but it’s interestingly to see who will feature at the number four spot. Over the years, the position has been a huge cause of concern for the Men in Blue.

If The Manager Had Stayed The Same, I Would Have Left – David Luiz

Just after Willian revealed that he would have not have stayed if Antonio Conte was still in charge, another Chelsea player David Luiz has now revealed the same.

David Luiz admitted he’s still at Stamford Bridge only because a new manager was appointed.

The relationship between the former Chelsea manager and few players got worse day by day. It all began when Conte told Diego Costa that he don’t need him and told him to not comeback during a pre-season.

Problems with David Luiz also started to begin. The defender was benched for matches after matches during Conte’s last state of his Chelsea career.

And the Brazilian defender has admitted that he would have left in this transfer window if Conte was still in charge.

Luiz told Sky Sports:
“If the manager had stayed the same, of course, everybody knows maybe I would have had to move clubs. Now I’m here and so happy.”

However, he is now loving life once again at Chelsea after the appointment of Sarri.

“I think every coach comes with new stuff and can improve and help us and of course Sarri are already taught me many things I never saw before. It’s great to understand football – it never stops. Since I started playing football I always learn from every coach, it’s great.”

After a disappointing last season, Luiz and co wants to bounce back. He also believes it will take some time to adapt to the methods of the former Napoli coach.

“The ambition has to be to win every single match, every single competition. This is Chelsea we can’t think in a different way. But we also have to have humility to understand we’re at the beginning of a new philosophy. So we start day-by-day every single week.”

The 31-year-old defender is in his second spell with Chelsea. He has previously won both the Europa League and Champions League with the Blues.

Took Risk Of Coming Back To Chelsea, Says Luiz

London, May 26 (IANS) Brazil centre-back David Luiz, who left Paris Saint-Germain and returned to Chelsea for around 35 million pounds ($39.2 million), says he has taken a risk of coming back to the country which is not happy with him.

Despite winning several trophies like the Champions League, the Europa League, fans and critics still criticised him to which the 30-year-old volatile Brazilian said he wanted to taste something new and that was the reason he took this risk.

“If you want me to be honest, be honest with me. Of course, you know. I was winning everything in Paris. I was there for two years and won all the titles in France. I had a great life, great credibility with the club … I had everything,” Luiz, who returned to Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain last August, was quoted as saying by the Guardian on Thursday.

“But then I took a risk to come back to the one country that was not that happy with me. Where they always criticised me a lot even after winning the Champions League, the Europa League or where I’d played all the games.”

“That’s why it was a risk. And I love the risk. If you don’t take risks in your life – in your professional life but also in everyday life – you never feel anything new, so I [chose to] taste something new. I don’t like to stay always with the easy life but I’m happy now because I took the right decision,” he added.

The Chelsea defender also said that to prove himself he took pay cut when he returned to the in summer.

“If you want to know about the money, I cut my salary to come back here. But it’s OK, God has given me a lot, so I’m happy with this. Did I come back different? Always the same question … I think I try to improve as a person, as a brother, as a son, as a friend every day,” he said.

The Brazilian footballer praised his current coach Antonio Conte saying the former Italian footballer is a great person and is passionate about the game

“The day I arrived back here I spoke with Conte — a great person, a great character who is passionate and loves his football — and he tried to explain his philosophy to play football,” he said.

David Luiz Provides Huge Injury Update After Everton Game

Chelsea defender David Luiz has assured that he did not suffer a massive injury through his instagram post after the game against Everton.

The Brazilian is one of the most important players for Antonio Conte this season and the Blues have been extremely successful in getting the best out of the talented central defender. Luiz, who has been suffering fro a knee problem ever since the horrendous tackle of Sergio Aguero in December, continues to rehab as he is not keen to undergo a surgery.

The Blues  have come out on top in Goodison Park, in what was termed as their biggest challenge in the league in remaining games, and could very well win Premier League with ease after their confident 3-0 win away.

However, the win did not come easily for Chelsea who manage to score three goals in the second half as Pedro, Gary Cahill and Willian have all scored. But the win came at the expense of the injury to David Luiz which has raised concerns among the fans over his situation.

But the 30-year old, who is arguably the best defender in Premier League this season, has taken his instagram to ensure the fans that he had suffered only a minor setback as he was seen limped off the pitch in the final 10 minutes of the game against Everton.

The instagram story saw David Luiz receiving treatment to his left leg as he put wink and fist emojis in the pic.

David Luiz Provides Huge Injury Update After Everton Game 2

Speaking of David Luiz after game against Everton, Antonio Conte said: ‘I didn’t speak with the doctor about his injury but I don’t think it is a serious injury for him.

‘I hope in the next game that David Luiz is available to play. Also now in this part of the season it is important sometimes to try to play if you are not 100 per cent with your condition.

‘He is showing us great commitment in this season. Don’t forget his injury in the knee after the game against City – but I am very pleased for the impact of Ake in the Everton game.’

David Luiz Provides Massive Update On Surgery To Knee Injury

Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed that he will not be undergoing surgery for his long lasting knee injury despite the pain he has suffered over the last few months.

The Brazilian has damaged his knee in December due to Sergio Aguero’s reckless tackle that saw the Argentine get a three-game ban after a straight red card.

The 29-year old has excelled under Antonio Conte after returning to Stamford Bridge last summer and has played a massive role in Blues’ dominance in the Premier League so far as he is undoubtedly one of the best defenders in the league this season.

‘The international break gives me a good chance to rest my knee. It’s a very good thing for me,’ Luiz told the Evening Standard.

‘Only I feel the pain so nobody knows [how hard it’s been to cope with]. But we have amazing medical staff and they have been great with me.

‘Every single match, every single player they are there for every player. They have helped me a lot.

‘I won’t need an operation in the summer. But it’s very good for me to rest, not just the knee, but the body as well.

‘I am disappointed to not be in the Brazil squad, but I respect the decision. I’m playing regularly and trying to do my best to come back [into the squad]. Have I been told why I wasn’t picked? No.’

David Luiz, who has not won a Premier League in his previous stint at Stamford Bridge, could very be a champion this season as the Blues won a difficult away game at Stoke City by 2-1 last weekend to increase their lead to 13 points.

‘We have to show every day in our lives that we are tough men as well as good footballers,’ the former PSG star added.

‘You need to be a good human, with a good personality, to be honest. It’s not just inside the pitch, it’s about being this way every day.

‘When you’re with people, you need to show your character.’

Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Swansea: Conte Pondering Over Big Changes!!

Manchester City, Manchester United and arsenal aren’t playing this weekend because of the League Cup final, so the Blues will be itching to keep the pressure on at the top of the table in their absence.

But they welcome a resurgent Swans side to Stamford Bridge, who have proved to be a tough oppponent for Chelsea over the past couple of seasons, having drawn two and lost one in their last three meetings.

In good news though, Antonio Conte has no major injury concerns ahead of the top flight contest.

Here is the team we think Antonio Conte could pick for the game:

GoalkeeperChelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Swansea: Conte Pondering Over Big Changes!! 3

The Blues boss is expected to make plenty of changes to his starting eleven after resting some of his key for last weekend’s FA Cup win at Wolves. Thibaut Courtois has been suffering from gastroenteritis but the Belgian international is expected to recover to replace Asmir Begovic between the sticks.

Defence

David Luiz was given the weekend off last time out in order to rest his niggling knee injury but the Brazilian international has been managing the pain for several months so he’s expected to come back in to the side on Saturday.Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Swansea: Conte Pondering Over Big Changes!! 4

Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill are also set for recalls with John Terry, Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake all making way despite keeping a clean sheet last weekend.

Midfield

Conte is certain to bring N’Golo Kante back in to the starting eleven after he was given a well-earned breather last time out while Nemanja Matic is also in-line for a recall after not even being named in the squad against Wolves.Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Swansea: Conte Pondering Over Big Changes!! 5

Therefore, Nathan Chalobah and Cesc Fabregas will make way but Victor Moses should keep his place on the right while Marcos Alonso is expected to come back in on the left side of midfield.

Attack

Eden Hazard and Diego Costa both started against Wolves and they are likely to keep their places in attack this weekend while Pedro could move back in to a more advanced role after playing out on the wing last time out.Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Swansea: Conte Pondering Over Big Changes!! 6

Willian is the man most likely to make way so the Brazilian attacker will join the likes of Michy Batshuayi and Fabregas on the bench.

Chelsea Injury News: Key Defender Fit To Play Against Wolves, Two Key Players Miss Out

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that defender John Terry is fit and could start against Wolves tomorrow as the Blues face the Championship side in FA Cup.

The 36-year old had suffered an ankle injury last week which has ruled him out of their Premier League game against Burnley but the veteran defender could be in line to start on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Italian manager has also announced that Marcos Alonso and David Luiz are the only players who will miss the game as all the others are available for selection.

“All the players are available,” Conte said.

“For sure there are situations that is better to keep under control.

“For Marcos Alonso to have a bit of rest and David Luiz.

“We have the opportunity to recover very well and to prepare for the next game. All the players are in a good form. I have to make the best choices for the game.”

Both Marcos Alonso and David Luiz were given rest while the latter is still trying to fully recover from his knee injury. Luiz had limped against Burnley as he struggled to stay on pitch which has put the Blues fans in anger.

However, Conte has revealed the player is doing fine as he is in much better condition than the day when he suffered the injury courtesy of a reckless tackle from Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero.

“He is okay, his knee is okay. If you compare his knee after Man City, it has improved a lot,” Conte said of Luiz.

“It is important to keep it under control. He is doing training sessions with a fitness coach.”

Chelsea have looked near perfect in the Premier League as they are way ahead of their title rivals. However, the Blues will also look to make the most in FA Cup as a win tomorrow would put them in the quarterfinals.

Chelsea had last won FA Cup in 2012 and will look to go for more silverware as Premier League is only theirs to lose from now on.

Chelsea Star David Luiz Brutally Trolled For New Hairstyle

Premier League leaders Chelsea travelled to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in the early kick-off on Sunday.

A game of such importance to the title race would no doubt produce several talking points, although the main topic of conversation turned out to be defender David Luiz and his change of hairstyle.

The Brazilian opted against his usual Sideshow Bob-esque afro and decided to put his hair in a ponytail.

The change of look did nothing for his performance, but it led to some typically hilarious posts on Twitter.

On the pitch, Luiz limped through the action and was needlessly booked midway through the second half.

The match itself was a tight affair, with the leaders controlling possession but both teams having their fair share of chances. Republic of Ireland international Robbie Brady hit home a brilliant free-kick inside 25 minutes to level the score, after Pedro had given Chelsea an early lead.

Following this, neither team were able to find a winner and the game ended 1-1. That result has extended Chelsea’s lead at the top to ten points and lifted Burnley above Watford into twelfth.

The on-field action may be forgotten quickly, with both teams probably happy with a point apiece, but Luiz may be the butt of a few jokes for the foreseeable future.

Big Blow for Chelsea: David Luiz Sparks Injury Concerns In Burnley Draw

Chelsea defender David Luiz has sparked fears of a serious knee injury after their 1-1 draw against Burnley on Sunday.

The Blues have looked little off against the Clarets at Turf Moor and have only managed a 1-1 draw at the end to move ten points clear the top.

However, the major concern for the fans was the injury of David Luiz who looked to be struggling and limping throughout the second half.

Antonio Conte has revealed that the Brazilian is having a pain in his knee ahead of the game and had insisted that Luiz will play because he is a warrior.

‘He’s playing with a little pain in his knee,’ Conte said ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.

‘He’s a warrior and he’s playing very well, I’m pleased for him. He’s showing me a great attitude and a will to continue to fight despite the fact that sometimes he has a bit of pain.’

However, Chelsea fans seemed to be furious with the manager’s decision to play Luiz as he is risking their best defender in a low profile game.

The 29-year old has uploaded a pic in his Instagram account which has scared Chelsea fans about his injury.

Big Blow for Chelsea: David Luiz Sparks Injury Concerns In Burnley Draw 7

Luiz had suffered the injury when Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero went into a rash tackle which got the Argentine a straight red card in the notorious game at Etihad Stadium in December.

However, the Brazilian has carried on with his knee injury and have made some stellar performances for the Blues in the recent weeks.

But Conte should be more careful in using his best defender as he has a rich of reserves with the likes of John Terry and Kurt Zouma on the bench.
