IPL 2020, Eliminator: SunRisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – RCB Predicted XI

Entering for the first time in playoffs since 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on SunRisers Hyderabad in the eliminator. Sheikh Zayed Stadium will host the do or die match on Friday (November 6).

With the good run rate, Royal Challengers Bangalore survived in the competition. But to fulfil their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL)  trophy dream, they will have to defeat the 2016 IPL winners to move on to the next qualifier and then enter the finals.

Here, let’s take a look at Royal Challengers Bangalore predicted XI for the crucial encounter:

Devdutt Padikkal:

Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal is the only one in the Royal Challengers Bangalore who has constantly been scoring runs. In the last match against DC, he set a good base for the team, scoring a half-century, but Virat Kohli and others could not carry the momentum.

The youngster has the burden to give a good start and play a big knock to keep the side alive in the competition.

Josh Philippe:

Josh Philippe, who has replaced out of form Aaron Finch, was the highest-scorer for RCB against SRH, scoring 32 off 31 balls, in their last meeting. He didn’t get the support from the other end and lost his wicket while playing a risky shot off Rashid Khan’s ball. The wicketkeeper-batsman need to stitch up a solid partnership with Padikkal to set a good base in the eliminator.

Virat Kohli:

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has given a disappointing outing in the last three matches. As the team is over reliable on him, he will have to play a substantial knock in the eliminator; otherwise, the team’s result can be on the other side.

AB de Villiers:

AB de Villiers (Image Credit: IPL)

With Virat Kohli already faltering, AB de Villiers had also not managed the team to get good runs on the board in their last defeats. Against SRH, he was out after scoring 24 runs. As a result, RCB set up a below-par total of 120 runs. He is the most impactful player in Royal Challengers Bangalore and needs to be in the best form.

Washington Sundar:

Against SRH in their last meeting, Washington Sundar tried to pull things back for the team with his batting, but T Natrajan’s perfect yorker ended his innings soon. He came to bat after Royal Challengers Bangalore had already lost four wickets. The spin-bowling allrounder hit some good shots but was out after scoring 21 runs off 18 balls. With his bowling, he picked the early wicket of David Warner to put pressure on SRH. However, all his effort went in vain.

But the spinner will have to get a good allrounder performance against the same team in the eliminator.

Shivam Dube:

Shivam Dube has not got enough chances to bat and ball. But he has played some impactful in the end to get Royal Challengers Bangalore to a fighting total. The fast bowling allrounder will look to capitalize on an opportunity if given in the eliminator.

Chris Morris:

Chris Morris has not been economical in the last three matches. Against SRH, in his two overs, he bowled two wide balls while leaked 19 runs and went wicketless. Also with the bat, the power-hitter was out after scoring three runs. The bowling allrounder needs to come back stronger against DC.

Isuru Udana:

Isuru Udana has also got the knack for picking crucial wickets in crunch situations. He has snared the wicket of Kane Williamson in the last match to give the breakthrough to the team albeit the team could not register a victory. The speedster will play a pivotal role against SRH.

Yuzvendra Chahal:

Yuzvendra Chahal.

Yuzvendra Chahal is the go-to-man for Virat Kohli whenever the team needs a wicket. The spinner’s lethal weapon googly has delivered wickets to him. Against SRH, he picked two crucial wickets of Manish Pandey and Wriddhiman Saha to change the momentum of the game although the runs were not enough on the board to defend.

Mohammed Siraj:

The speedster was expensive in Sharjah although he bowled only one over but gave away 12 runs. He has shown how lethal can be when conditions favour him during the match against KKR. Royal Challengers Bangalore will expect him to deliver the same performance against SRH.

AB de Villiers has lost his wicket early in the last two matches, and it has affected the results as RCB has lost both the matches. Against SRH, he will want to stand up to his nickname ‘Super Human’ which he has earned this season after his powerful knocks.

Against CSK and MI, Washington Sundar went wicketless while conceded 27 and 20 runs respectively in his four overs quota. Although he was economical, the team needed him to give breakthroughs.

Isuru Udana has also got the knack for picking crucial wickets in crunch situations. He has snared seven wickets in eight matches, but he was dropped in the last two matches. As Navdeep Saini is injured and is likely to miss the match against SRH, he will get the place in the playing XI.

On Wednesday (October 28), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 48th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had registered victory against MI in their first meeting. It was a high-quality game as a result was decided in super overs. Both the teams showed their class, but RCB dominated the ground. The game would have been ended in twenty overs if the Virat Kohli-led side had not misfielded.

His poor form in the UAE is hurting the team, but he will retain his place in the XI seeing RCB has not a good backup option.
