Bosnian Full-Back Kolasinac To Sign For Arsenal

London, June 6 (IANS) English football giants Arsenal on Tuesday confirmed that Bosnian full-back Sead Kolasinac will join them on a long-term contract from July, subject to the completion of all regulatory processes.

An official statement on the club’s website said: “Sead Kolasinac will join us this summer on a long-term contract. Subject to the completion of all regulatory processes, the defender will start pre-season training in July.”

The defender has been signed from Bundesliga club Schalke, where he has spent all his professional career till date. The 23-year-old has been brought in as a free transfer.

He has struck four goals in is 122 appearances for the German club and scored the second highest goals for a defender in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season (three goals).

Kolašinac began his career in his hometown club, Karlsruher SC. After eight years of playing for Kalsruhe, Kolasinac joined TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where he played a season, afterwards being bought by VfB Stuttgart.

Kolašinac’s stay at Stuttgart was short-lived, and a season later, he joined Schalke 04.

Kolasinac has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in 18 matches. Although the defender was born in France and even played for them at a smaller age, he switched his allegiance to his parents’ homeland and received his first call up in 2013.

Huge News: Chelsea Finally Start Negotiations For Star Defender

Chelsea are plotting a sensational move for Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, according to reports.

The German defender is one of the finest in Bundesliga and Chelsea are hopeful of signiing him as a potential replacement for Branislav Ivanovic before the end of the transfer window. Ivanovic has agreed personal terms with Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg and will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the upcoming hours.

Conte is eager to sign the 23-year old as the German is in his final six months of contract at Schalke. The Bundesliga outfit are keen to tie him down to a new contract but the player was not keen on a new deal as he will be available for free this summer.

The Blues have opened talks for Kolasinac as they are keen to have a talented defender going into the second half of the season. Conte has already recalled Nathan Ake from Bournemouth after his impressive performances for the Cherries in the first half of the season.

Chelsea will need to fight with Italian champions Juventus as the Old Lady are also keen on the Schalke defender as they eye him as a possible replacement for Patrick Evra who will be out of contract next summer at Turin.

Juventus have reportedly offered four million and the German club are keen to listen more offers before making a decision on the player as he can leave the club for free after six months.

The addition of Ivanovic would mean Conte will have another talented defender in his roster who could be an asset in a 3-4-3 formation which the Blues have mastered this season.

The Blues will need to rush through the deal as the clock is ticking down with the deadline day looming. Chelsea are yet to make a signing in January and if Kolasinac signs he would their first addition in the winter transfer window.

Huge Transfer Deadline Day Boost: European Rivals Rule Out Move For Top Chelsea Target

Juventus are not planning to sign Sead Kolasinac in this January window, opening the door for Chelsea to swoop in, according to Sky Sports journalist Kavekh Solhekol.

Kolasinac’s contract at Schalke is set to expire this summer meaning he is available for a cut-price this month.

The Bosnia international was reportedly in negotiations with Juventus over a potential transfer but Chelsea have made an eleventh hour bid to scupper the deal.

Schalke will not want to risk losing the 23-year-old on a free in the summer.

Juventus reportedly tabled a £4.2million offer for Kolasinac this month but Sky Sports reporter Solhekol has now claimed the Serie A side have pulled out of the running to sign the full-back.Image result for kolasinac with teammates

He said: “Juventus say they won’t buy anyone before tomorrow’s deadline, leaving way clear for Chelsea to sign Schalke left back Sead Kolasinac.”

Chelsea are on the lookout for a more defensive cover with Branislav Ivanovic set to leave for Zenit St Petersberg.

Kolasinac has made 20 appearances for club and country this season, scoring two goals.

Chelsea are also rumoured to be eyeing the exciting defender. The Blues only signed current first choice left wing-back Marcos Alonso last summer, but there has been recent speculation that Antonio Conte hasn’t been entirely convinced by his performances.

This has also seen Chelsea linked with a move for Cologne left-back Jonas Hector to fill that position, and it is now claimed that Kolasinac is a target as well.

Conte is a known perfectionist and Sky Italia claim he could try to beat clubs to Kolasinac this January as he sets his sights on continuing his side’s march towards the Premier League title.

Chelsea Plan Late Swoop For Serie-A Full-Back Who Is Available On The Cheap

The Premier League has been an interesting affair this season with clubs around the league playing out some surprising results already.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side have been the most consistent team in the league this season and they are currently strolling away to a second Premier League title in 3 years. They are currently at the top of the Premier League table, 8 points of Arsenal in the 2nd place and have a great chance of going all the way as they do not have any European distractions either this season.

The players have been superb whenever called upon but Conte has been desperately trying to improve the quality and the depth in the squad and has been linked with some big names in Europe.

One such player who is close to a move to the Bridge this month is Sead Kolasinac.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is currently playing as a left-back for German side Schalke, a club he joined back in 2011 from Stuttgart.

He has ever since cemented a place in the squad, making more than 80 appearances in the Bundesliga, but he is not happy with his situation at the club and is looking to manufacture a way out of the club.

He is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and Italian giants Juventus reportedly have a verbal agreement over a £4.2m deal with him for a move at the end of the season but Chelsea are now desperate for his signature.

Italian media outfit Calcio Mercato has now revealed that the Blues have opened official talks with the representative of the player and are ready to make a move for him before the deadline day.

The German outfit are determined to keep the defender at the club until the end of the season, especially after on-loan Chelsea star Baba Rahman picked up a season ending injury.

But it is understood that Chelsea are confident of landing the man in the next few days.

Having already played 17 games for the national side, Kolasinac is an experienced player at just 23 and is an exciting prospect in Europe.

Premier League outfit Liverpool were also linked with a  move for him in the summer but Chelsea are now set to pip Juventus to his signature this month.

Liverpool Rival Arsenal And Juventus For Impressive Bundesliga Defender

According to latest reports, Liverpool are ready to rival Arsenal in the race for Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac, who has been on Jurgen Klopp’s radar since the last season.

Arsenal have made their desire open this January, though they find themselves up against tough negotiators as Schalke have no intention of selling their key defender at the moment.

The reports from Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb claim that alongside Liverpool and Arsenal, the Serie A champions Juventus are also willing to get the defender’s signature, but the Gunners seem to be stepping up their interest in the highly-rated Bosnia international for a move to bring him to London in summer.

The Gunners already have Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal as options at left-back, but may be planning to replace one of them as 27-year-old Gibbs has been heavily linked with an exit in recent times due to a lack of first-team football.

Kolasinac’s impressive form in Bundesliga has not gone unnoticed by bigger clubs, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also considering the 23-year-old defender as a potential target for the Reds.

But Liverpool may be too late to sign Kolasinac but then, with Juventus supposedly preparing a bid before the January transfer deadline.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Juve officials will hold talks with Schalke counterparts within the next two days in order to assess Kolasinac’s availability.

Juve are expected to let former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra leave this month and are searching a replacement.

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Kolasinac could go on the cheap, with Juve plotting a £3.5million bid – half of which would be paid in bonus instalments.

Jurgen Klopp Keen To Hijack Bundesliga Star, Premier League Rivals Also In The Race

Liverpool and Manchester City are set to battle it out for Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac in January, according to Sport Bild.

Jurgen Klopp has utilised James Milner in that position after growing tiresome of Alberto Moreno’s constant mistakes in the Red’s defence, but Kolasinac could provide the German with much-needed relief.

However, if Klopp’s men can successful rival Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the Bosnian’s signature, Liverpool can add some required strength in depth to their team in a bid to improve their title ambitions.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer, so a cut-price deal is likely in January as Markus Weinzierl’s Schalke side look to prepare themselves for life without Kolasinac.

There could be more certified guarantees from the Anfield camp as to starting promises in Klopp’s eleven, with Milner unlikely to continue at left-back should the Bundesliga star join a whole host of players to leave Germany for the Premier League.

Roberto Firmino, Emre Can, Joel Matip and Loris Karius are just some of the players that the club have recruited from Germany’s top flight so Kolasinac would not be in short company in Merseyside.

However, one player that will not be arriving is Southampton’s Virgil Van Djik.

The Dutch international, who has a reported £25 million release clause, is among the highly-rated defenders in Europe, but the Daily Mail have reported that Klopp will not be focusing on finding a replacement for Mamadou Sakho next month.
