Douglas Costa Had a Moment of Blackout – Allegri

Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri insists Douglas Costa had a moment of blackout during Seria A’s clash against Sassulo. The player was involved in a spitting incident at Federico Di Francesco.

Douglas Costa got a suspension of four matches in Seria A.

The 28-year old got banned for four matches after his disgraceful behaviour. However, the ban will get applied only on Seria A. However, Allegri has defended his player and believes he had a blackout, and it happens to everyone.

“On Sunday, Douglas Costa had a moment of blackout that should not happen, but it happens to everyone. He will pay the price with a four-match suspension, and the club won’t be appealing against it. It means that we’ll be without him in the league for a month and a half, so we’ve suffered as a team, whilst he is in shock at the minute.”

The manager also felt it was very uncharacteristic of Costa.

“It is very uncharacteristic of him and his usual high standards of fair play. He is very sorry, surprised and over time, he’ll have the chance to show that it was not his usual behaviour. If he doesn’t play [on Wednesday], it will only be a purely technical decision. He is the first person to be devastated by all this. Douglas is a person who would move out of the way for a fly.”

Meanwhile, Roma coach, Eusebio Di Francesco, the father of Sassuolo midfielder, Federico has denied the allegations made against his son of racially provoking the player.

“I’m disgusted by what I’ve heard about the presumed words that Federico said or things I’ve seen on social media about what he could have said to Douglas Costa. Federico, in the end, was the one who got spat at and that is a uniquely humiliating thing.”

Cristiano Ronaldo failed to find the net in his first three Seria A games for Juventus, and not surprisingly, the criticism began. However, the 33-year old forward has shut the critics and found his form back just before the start of the Champions League.

The Portuguese star scored his first goal after 50 minutes and broke the deadlock. And after 15 minutes later, he found his second and doubled the lead for Juventus. In the 90th minute, Sassuolo pulled one back, but Ronaldo’s brace was enough to seal the victory for the Seria A champions.

However, Ronaldo gave credit to his team-mates for breaking the stubborn defence and also admitted that pressure was building after failing to find the net in the first three games.

Ronaldo told Mediaset,

“I’m very happy; we started well. Sassuolo defend well, but we put in an intense performance and deserved to win. I really wanted to score these first goals, and I’m happy to have found the net. This is football. The important thing is that the team wins. Obviously, I was a little tense with all the talk of Real Madrid and not scoring, but I thank my team-mates for supporting me throughout.”

The former Real Madrid forward also feels he has started to adapt well to the Italian football. And with Champions League right around the corner, Ronaldo is excited to play his favourite tournament.

“I knew that I was working well and it was only a matter of time. I am adapting well to Italian football. The Champions League is my favourite tournament. It’s a very difficult group, we know that we can do well and Juve must focus on being the best.”

According to the reports, he is likely to get banned for three months which could see him missing Juventus’ clash with Serie A title rivals, Napoli on 29th September.

Right after the end of the match, Costa apologized to everyone for his actions on his Instagram.

“I would like to apologise to all of Juventus fans for this misleading reaction in today’s game. I also apologise to my teammates, who are always with me in good times and bad. And I admit I was ugly, I am aware, and I apologise to everyone for it. I make it clear that this isolated attitude does not match what I have always shown in my career.”

Douglas Costa @juventus

Meanwhile, Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri didn’t like the act of his player and insisted on things like this should never happen.

“Maybe he was irritated at a foul before. But it doesn’t matter, because this absolutely must not happen. The one thing we must avoid doing is falling for provocation. We could have scored a third goal, but instead, we started to play as individuals. We tried to dribble past everyone. This wound up the opposition, who then reacted badly and you get to situations like Douglas Costa.”

Seria A 2018/19: Cristiano Ronaldo Debuts as Juventus Win Close Game

Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut in Seria A didn’t go like the way he wanted, but Juventus ended with a dramatic 3-2 victory against Chievo in their opening game.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus secured a thrilling win in the dying minutes.

Sami Khedira gave an early lead to the defending Seria A champions. But Mariusz Stepinski’s first-half header and Emanuele Giaccherini’s penalty in the second half turned the match around in favour of the home side.

Soon after, Mattia Bani’s own goal levelled the score 2-2 with only 15 minutes to go. It looked like the substitute man, Mario Mandzukic had won the game for Juventus. But VAR disallowed the goal to spoil the party for the defending champions.

However, it was not for too long. Bernardeschi turned home Alex Sandro’s cross in the 93rd minute to give his side a winning start.

Juventus felt behind right after the start of the second half when one of their former players converted a 56th-minute penalty. Cancelo dived in on Giaccherini to concede the penalty. And the midfielder took the spot-kick himself to put Chievo ahead.

Trailing by 2-1, Ronaldo made several efforts to drag Juve back into the game and find his first goal in Seria A, but all his efforts went in vain.

It took just a few more minutes for Juventus to equalise courtesy of an own goal from Chievo’s Bani. And then in the 93rd minute, Bernardeschi scored past substitute goalkeeper Andrea Seculin to give his side a terrific win in their opening game.

However, with a rating of less than seven, Ronaldo will be disappointed for average performance in his Seria A debut.

Cristiano Ronaldo Set To Make Seria A Debut Despite Genoa Incident

The wait is over as Cristiano Ronaldo is all set to make his debut in Seria A tonight despite Genoa’s bridge incident.

Cristiano Ronaldo will make his Seria A debut with Juventus tonight.

After a collapse of a motorway bridge on Tuesday morning,  39 people died  and a state of emergency has been declared. Dozens of vehicles fell a total of 148 feet (45m). Rescuers now suggests that it is unlikely that any more survivors will be found.

The Italian league have already postponed Sampdoria’s clash with Fiorentina and AC Milan’s fixture against Genoa. The local sides requested postponements in order to mourn.

However, Juventus are set to face Chievo in their opening game tonight, where Ronaldo was about to make his Seria A debut. Though, Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero spoke with Andrea Agnelli. He suggested the Scudetto holders to request their match to be called off.

Massimo Ferrero said:

“I talked with Agnelli, he told me Juventus won’t be playing. It’s impossible to think about playing football. We think that, in front of tragedies like the one that happened in Genoa, everything else become secondary. In this moment it should be worth that the Italian football stopped. We should mourn and respect the mourning of tens of families. Football is passion and fun. But this is a moment of pain: we should all be close to Genoa and its casualties.”

However, a statement of Seria A suggested that all matches not involving sides local to Genoa will go ahead. The players instead will hold a minute’s silence and will wear blank armbands  to honour the victims.

And Seria A have finalized their decision that the matches will go on. Juventus will face Chievo at the Marcantonio Bentegodi.

When you play in the Champions League quarterfinals against Juventus, you can see signs, and the whole stadium applauds you — it’s incredible. It was a beautiful feeling. … I do not say that it was the [reason for signing], but it helped to see that people appreciated me. In that case, the sensations are completely different.”

When asked what’s his goal at his new club, Ronaldo said,

“My priority is to do my best, be professional, try to make the team even better. That’s my job. I’ll try to enjoy it as much as I can and make Juventus even better.”

And former Brazil forward Ronaldo believes Cristiano Ronaldo can be the catalyst to re-alive the Seria A.

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play his first Seria A game on August 18.

Ronaldo Nazario’s career was marked as a golden era for Seria A. The league was known as one of the leading leagues in world football at that time. And Ronaldo played a vital role in it. This time he believes the other Ronaldo will spark up the league.

Ronaldo Nazario told Sky Italia:
“The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in Italy is a great thing. Because Italian football has not recently been going through a good moment and this signing could relaunch it. It needs to bounce back from a difficult situation and I hope the spectacle returns.”

After the arrival of Ronaldo in Seria A, the rumours of Luka Modric coming to Inter Milan has also turned to be very strong. Ronaldo Nazario is unaware about the transfer, but he wishes his former team all the best for the upcoming season.

“It’s a strange transfer window — let’s see what happens. I hope that this season, Inter achieve the goals they have set. In terms of Modric, on the other hand, I don’t know if there really are negotiations underway between the two clubs. The market closes in a few weeks so let’s wait and see. All the top clubs are strengthening and Inter are up there.”

Brazil’s Ronaldo won two Ballon d’Ors lifted the UEFA Cup with Inter in 1998. He also scored 49 goals in 68 games before moving to Spanish club Real Madrid.

Napoli Stadium Looks Like a Toilet, says Club’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis

Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis has lashed out at the Metropolitan Council of Naples over the lack of progress made and further compared the ground to a toilet.

The Stadio San Paolo is currently under construction ahead of the new season.

The Stadio San Paolo is currently under construction. But the progress of the work has made the Napoli president furious. The work of the venue is yet to meet the satisfaction of De Laurentiis. He has brutally criticised the local government’s handling of the project. The Napoli president told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli,

“If I were at the head of the council, we would have no financial problems. ‘m tired of saying that San Paolo is falling by the wayside and they’re not doing what they can to make it happen. Instead of improving it, the stadium looks more and more like a toilet.”

De Laurentiis also criticised Attilio Auricchio, the man responsible for overseeing the redevelopment of the stadium. According to the chairman, he has squandered around the region of €25 million throughout the process.

“I’m used to Auricchio’s lies. Auricchio has to explain to me why, for eight years now, the San Paolo is increasingly a toilet. The councillor for sport, who I like, can’t go against him and therefore is also forced to be a liar. They don’t have to tell lies. If I’d been in that state of financial distress, I’d have resigned.”

When asked if the club’s off-season spending was more than he accounted for, he said,

“I love Napoli, so I keep the budget open all year. Despite the growth, I lost €15m last year, and I’ll lose more next year.”

Napoli finished second in Serie A last season. They will play their first Seria A game this season against Lazio on 18th August.
