In another blow for Tottenham Hotspur, FC Porto star Luiz Diaz has rejected the contract offer from the Premier League giants. Spurs had a £38 million bid rejected by Portuguese giants this week and now the player himself has ruled out the North London move. Before Diaz’s rejection, Philippe Coutinho and Franck Kessi also rejected Spurs’offer this month.
The 25-year-old Colombian winger has been in sensational form with 14 goals and 4 assists in 18 Primeira Liga matches this season. He also scored 4 goals in 5 Copa America matches and was the joint top goalscorer alongside Lionel Messi last year. His sudden rise has attracted some of the biggest European clubs this month, including Premier League against Liverpool and Manchester United.
Liverpool also approached FC Porto to enquire about the player’s availability this month but were turned by the Portuguese side who are not looking to offload their star player mid-season. But Diaz has a £67 million release clause in his current contract and Porto are looking to accept any offer above that. Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch Diaz this season and he is on their shortlist for the summer transfer window.
According to a report from the Record, Porto have rejected the first £38 million offer for Diaz from Tottenham Hotspur. Now Spurs are preparing another offer of around £46 million but Diaz is not interested in the North London move, which leaves Liverpool and Manchester United in driving seat.
Tottenham Hotspur Set To Offload Tanguy Ndombele And Dele Alli To Raise Funds For Luiz Diaz:
Club record signing Tanguy Ndombele and English midfielder Dele Alli are closing on Tottenham Hotspur exit this month as Antonio Conte is looking to raise funds to conclude some business this month. Fans and pundits have raised their doubts over the club leaving it so late to do transfer activity and only 4 days remain when the transfer window gets closed.
According to journalist Julien Maynard, Ndombele is closing on the Valencia loan deal but the French midfielder is looking for a Paris Saint-Germain move who have offered Georginio Wijnaldun in a player swap loan deal. Ndombele has fallen out in pecking order since the arrival of manager Antonio Conte and hasn’t played since the Boxing Day last day.
Conte is also pushing for Dele Alli’s departure this month and instructed the club to find a new club for the English playmaker. Alli has been struggling lately with just 1 goal and 1 assist in 12 matches this season and lost his regular first-team place under Antonio Conte. According to a report from Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have received 5 offers for Dele Alli this month including Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. But Lillywhites are planning to loan out the 25-year-old star to Premier League clubs, as they believe that Alli still has a future at the club.
