Summer Rae was one of the earliest women to work in the NXT after the beginning of this brand when WWE started to use it as the development territory of their promotion. Rae what in the NXT for 3 years and she had excellent feuds with some of the upcoming top stars of professional wrestling like Paige.

Rae also started wrestling on the main roster soon and he was doing a very good job as a wrestler on the main roster of WWE. In 2017 she was released from the promotion and she could never find a regular wrestling career after her WWE release. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet recently, Rae revealed how much she missed wrestling. Here is what she had to say;
“So I miss wrestling. I personally wouldn’t, I have a bone spur on a vertebra in my neck and I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. So I’m doing good, but at the end of my injury, I kind of have the tingling in my hands where I couldn’t really open doors and that was a little scary to me. So for me, I miss storytelling.

Summer Rae Did Not Sign For Any Promotion Since Her WWE Release In 2017
“I constantly write ideas and pitches down and like, submit them to certain promotions. And I have all these ideas that I miss and I do want to be a part of it again, I do think I have a lot more to give. And especially from like, I was telling you a standpoint of being present in the moment, how I would do things so differently, so much more confident and have fun with it, so much more fun.
“I don’t think I could wrestle every week and be in that role. And I don’t think that’s my purpose either. I think, you know, being able to highlight talents, and pull the best out of them and being able to make them the main thing and being able to showcase new younger talent and bring them up with what I know from the business. I would love to do something like that.”

In 2018 she tried her luck on the Independence circuit where she did not get enough calls either. In 2022 she returned to WWE as an entrant for the women’s Royal Rumble match and that was pretty much it for her professional wrestling career as of now. She did not work in any other wrestling ring after her Royal Rumble appearance last year. We hope to see her working in wrestling rings again in the future.
