The hometown hero triumphed at AEW All Out 2022 as CM Punk won back the AEW World Heavyweight Title in Chicago. Two weeks ago, he lost the AEW Undisputed World Championship match to Jon Moxley in an impromptu matchup. Last week, Punk was convinced by Ace Steel to run it back with Mox for the title, one more time.

Then at AEW All Out 2022, he finally got his revenge by pinning Jon Moxley for winning back the title. The Second City Savior entered the PPV event with the sole purpose of taking back the title from his adversary and he went to the extreme limit to achieve the same.

The two former WWE Superstars pulled out all the stops and bled all around the ring before the closing moments of the match saw Punk connecting with two back-to-back GTS moves on Mox for the win. This win at AEW All Out 2022 has now made Punk a two-time AEW World Champion.

Then CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley to reclaim the AEW World Championship in the main event of All Out 2022 after which the lights went out and a voicemail from AEW President Tony Khan played. In that audio clip, Khan could be heard offering money to MJF for the sake of AEW fans so that MJF could feature in the Casino Ladder Match.

Thereafter, MJF appeared on stage and revealed his identity to share a staredown with Punk. He also closed AEW All Out 2022 by flipping off to the crowd. But he will receive a future shot at Punk’s title after winning the Casino Ladder Match.
