After headlining numerous smaller promotions over the years, Toni Storm achieved a title in the big leagues at AEW All Out 2022. From now, she can call herself the AEW Interim Women’s World Champion. She defeated Dr. Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Jamie Hayter in a Fatal-4-Way Match by pinning Hayter with a DDT.
The two allies, Baker and Hayter have recently been growing bad blood towards each other and that was the key focus for the better part of this title match at AEW All Out 2022. The two initially worked as a tandem to take out Shida on the ramp. But later in the match, Shida would return the favor by working with Storm to take out the two villains.
AEW All Out 2022: New Champions Threaten To Walk Out After CM Punk Controversy
The former AEW Women’s World Champion, Britt Baker almost won the match at one point after leveling Shida with a lariat and then sending Storm to the outside. It was Hayter who pulled the referee outside the ring so that he couldn’t complete the three count in Baker’s favor. Baker and Hayter were about to go up against each other in that heat of the moment.
At that point, Storm came from behind, and took advantage of the situation by nailing a Storm Zero on Hayter. She then followed it up with DDT on both her and Baker before pinning Hayter to win the match. With this win, Storm became the new Interim AEW Women’s World Champion at AEW All Out 2022.

AEW All Out 2022 title match lineup was supposed to be different
Initially, AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa was scheduled to defend her title against Storm in a singles bout at AEW All Out 2022. According to the reports of The Wrestling Observer, Storm was the favorite to defeat Rosa for the championship. Eventually, the same outcome was reflected during the PPV.
Rosa was pulled from the singles contest due to an undisclosed injury that led to the setup of this fatal-4-way match at AEW All Out 2022 to crown the Interim Champion. AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed that once Rosa returns from injury, she will face the Interim Champion Toni Storm in a Title Unification bout, down the road, much like CM Punk faced Jon Moxley after his comeback.
