Following this week’s resident Friday night programming, Rampage, AEW Battle of the Belts III has also been taped, last night. Three matches for the Saturday night special were recorded from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan that will be airing, tonight. As seen in those, no titles have changed hands.

Three title matches were on the AEW Battle of the Belts III card, including Claudio Castagnoli’s first Ring of Honor World Championship defense against Konosuke Takeshita. He won the title from Jonathan Gresham last month at last month’s ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. Castagnoli continued his title reign by defeating the DDT Pro star.

Also, Thunder Rosa successfully defended the AEW Women’s Championship against Jamie Hayter while Wardlow put the TNT Championship on the line against Jay Lethal to come out on top. At a glance, the spoilers from AEW Battle of the Belts are given below, (courtesy PWInsider)

TNT Championship Match: Jay Lethal vs. Wardlow (c) – Wardlow pinned Lethal with a powerbomb.
AEW Women’s Championship Match: Jamie Hayter vs. Thunder Rosa (c) – Rosa defeated Hayter to retain her title with Toni Storm standing in Rosa’s corner.
Ring of Honor World Championship Match: Konosuke Takeshita vs. Claudio Castagnoli (c) – Castagnoli defeated Takeshita to retain his title.

AEW Battle of the Belts IV announcements

AEW Battle of the Belts has now become a quarterly tradition in the promotion and it will return one last time at the very beginning of the fourth quarter. As per AEW’s announcement, the 4th edition will be recorded on Friday, October 7th, the same night that a live episode of AEW Rampage that takes place at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, DC.

Going by the past airings of AEW Battle of the Belts it is almost certain that the show will be a taped one rather than a live one. An episode of AEW Dynamite will also be broadcast live from the same venue in the United States capital on October 5th. Tickets for AEW Dynamite/Rampage/Battle of the Belts will go on sale on Friday, August 12th. Combo tickets will also be available to purchase for fans who looking forward to attending both the show tapings on October 5/7.
