This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite had the official in-ring debut of former WWE Superstar, Samoa Joe. The veteran superstar competed in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament against Max Caster and picked up the win. In his first official AEW in-ring match, Joe hit his signature Muscle Buster to get the pin on Caster.
Prior to the match on AEW Dynamite, Max Caster made his entrance with teammate Anthony Bowens and rapped away to make fun of Joe. The three-time WWE NXT Champion was blasted for being injury-prone and how he was a top star on NXT when AEW was beating the show in head-to-head ratings in the Wednesday night war.

Prior to this week’s AEW Dynamite appearance, Joe made his return to ROH at Supercard of Honor XV this past Friday. Following the show, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Joe is All Elite. The new ROH owner has also confirmed that Joe is signed to compete in both AEW and ROH shows.
Then he also commented to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about Joe’s arrival on AEW Dynamite and how he would be used in wrestling capacities,
“We signed Samoa Joe to wrestle,” Khan said. “He’s bringing star power to AEW, and he’s arrived at the perfect time for us. We’re extremely excited for him to make his AEW debut on Dynamite in the first round of the Owen Hart Tournament against Max Caster.”

Moving on from Samoa Joe, two huge tag team matches were made official for next week’s AEW Dynamite episode, including an AEW Tag Title defense by the champions, Jurassic Express. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus will put their belts on the line against reDRagon (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish). This should be the main event of the night.
The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, and Daniel Garcia) will compete against Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz in a six-man tag team match on AEW Dynamite as the heated feud between the two factions will continue.
