Following 2022 All Out pay-per-view, it was confirmed that the next pay-per-view will be AEW Full Gear. Following the tradition of the past couple of years, this event will also mark the promotion’s last pay-per-view of this year.
Proving the earlier reports true, AEW Full Gear was confirmed to return on Saturday, November 19, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. That week’s AEW Rampage will also be taking place, live at the same venue, the day before on Friday, November 18. Tickets are set to go on sale for both events on September 23. With this, AEW is also seemingly looking forward to Saturday night PPV events.
Toni Storm Not In ‘Ideal’ Position After Becoming AEW Women’s Champion
Sean Sapp Ross from Fightful was the first one to reveal behind his paywall that some of the AEW staff and talents learned in early August that the event’s 2022 edition is planned to take place in Newark, New Jersey. Then AEW finally confirmed the details during their latest PPV outing.
AEW Full Gear will run from the New Jersey area
Before the 2022 AEW Full Gear edition, the promotion has previously run shows from Newark twice, running from the Prudential Center last September, one week before the AEW Grand Slam edition of Dynamite at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The January 5 episode, the first one to air on TBS Network also took place at the same venue. “Hangman” Adam Page defeated Bryan Danielson to retain the AEW World Championship in a rematch on that night that was dubbed as AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming.
The 2021 AEW Full Gear pay-per-view drew an estimated 145,000 buys and the final number of distributed tickets from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota was 10,442. The main event of the show featured “Hangman” Adam Page defeating Kenny Omega to become the new AEW World Champion. Currently, after All Out pay-per-view, CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley to become the new AEW World Champion.
