AEW Dynamite had the first semifinal match of the AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2022 on the card with the lineup being Jeff Hardy vs. Adam Cole.
Before the match began, Cole pounced on Hardy from behind and took him down on the entrance ramp during the entry. Thus Cole gained an advantage and utilized it throughout the matchup. The finish saw Adam Cole avoiding a Swanton bomb and hit his final boom knee strike for the pinfall win to become the first finalist of the Men’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2022.

The other semifinal match of the AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2022 is now set after Samoa Joe and Kyle O’Reilly won their respective quarterfinal matches. The two men will compete on next week’s AEW Dynamite to determine the other finalist and who will face Adam Cole at Double Or Nothing PPV event.
Kyle O’Reilly and Rey Fenix collided one-on-one in a quick-paced matchup on Dynamite. O’Reilly finally got the win by tweaking Fenix’s arm with the cross armbreaker submission maneuver. As for Joe, he defeated a debuting John Morrison (Johnny Elite) with a muscle buster to advance to the semifinal round.

In the Women’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2022, Maki Itoh made her return to AEW Dynamite and she was revealed as Dr. Britt Baker’s mystery opponent in a Quarterfinal Match. This was her first match back with AEW since March 2021.
Itoh had a brief run with AEW where she previously teamed up with Baker in a match against Riho and Thunder Rosa at the Revolution pay-per-view. She was part of the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament but she lost to Ryo Mizunami in a first-round match.
Baker secured the victory in Itoh’s latest match by hitting her lockjaw finishing move. She has now advanced to the semifinal round and will face Toni Storm in order to determine who the first finalist will be.
The last quarterfinal match in the Women’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2022 will take place this Friday on AEW Rampage as Red Velvet faces Kris Statlander. Statlander wasn’t originally part of the tourney but she has become a substitute for Hikaru Shida who is injured.
Men’s and Women’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2022 finals will take place at AEW Double Or Nothing PPV on May 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Martha Hart will be there, live to present the Owen Cup trophy to the inaugural winners.
