The inaugural AEW Trios Championship Tournament bracket was revealed during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The plans for crowning the new champions, along with the plans for the tournament, were announced a couple of weeks ago, during the July 27 edition of Dynamite. But it wasn’t until last night that the participants of the tournament alongside the kick-off match were disclosed.
During last night’s Quake By The Lake edition of AEW Dynamite from Minneapolis Minnesota, it was declared that the upcoming trios tournament will crown the first-ever AEW Trios Championship holders. Overall, eight existing and newly setup factions will be a part of the tourney.

The teams officially announced for the competition go as follows: Death Triangle; Dark Order; Best Friends; the team of Andrade El Idolo, Rush, and Dragon Lee aka La Faccion Ingobernable; The House of Black; Trustbusters; The Young Bucks along with a mystery partner; and Will Ospreay and Aussie Open of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s United Empire faction.

The finale of the AEW Trios Championship tournament is scheduled for the September 4 All Out pay-per-view from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Plus, the match between Andrade Rush, and Dragon Lee and The Young Bucks & Mystery Man will kick things off, next week. The currently confirmed match card for the August 17 episode of AEW Dynamite having a House of the Dragon tie-in, stands as follows,
-La Faccion Ingobernable vs. The Young Bucks & Mystery Partner
-Daniel Garcia vs. Bryan Danielson (Two out of Three falls match)
–Toni Storm vs. KiLynn King
The team of Ospreay and Aussie Open was the one team that was a surprise addition to the AEW Trios Championship Tournament. The trio is set to return to AEW for the first time since Ospreay defeated Orange Cassidy at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV back in June.
Also, people are curious to know about the mystery partner for The Young Bucks. Given their bond, Adam Cole is the favorite to join his besties. We have to wait till next week to get to know that name.
