Fans in attendance at the latest wrestling event hosted by STARDOM were up for a surprise appearance in the form of AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. The star who once was a part of the Japanese promotion appeared with a very special message and also teased a future matchup with a veteran of the brand.

Toni Storm appeared at the STARDOM American Dream event in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena, better known as the ECW Arena, and began her promo by expressing her gratitude for the wrestling promotion, by mentioning that she wouldn’t be a star of this magnitude without the promotion.

The three-time and reigning AEW Women’s World Champion then also presented flowers to Mariah May, her ally, and said she was proud of her. Turning her attention towards Mina Shirakawa, Toni Storm got in the face of the Artist of Stardom Champion and told her that “the Forbidden Door is always open” which was a tease of a future matchup between the two of them.

Toni Storm and Mariah May were later interviewed backstage, where she praised May and said that “the Forbidden Door is always open.” May said that while Shirakawa was her mentor in Japan, Storm was her mentor in the United States. Shirakawa was further mentioned “quite the interesting one” and that she would talk about her with May at a later date, possibly hinting at a future matchup at the Forbidden Door cross-promotional event.

At this point, Shirakawa is booked for Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor 2024. She’ll team up with Maika and Mei Seira against Tam Nakano, Saya Kamitani, and AZM. As for Toni Storm, her next high-profile matchup will happen, later this month at AEW Dynasty when she puts her championship on the line against Thunder Rosa.

Toni Storm wasn’t announced for STARDOM, before the show and it appeared to be a big surprise for her. But she wasn’t the only notable non-STARDOM name at the show. WWE Superstar Natalya was also in attendance. On Twitter, the former WWE Women’s Champion spoke about reuniting with Kyoko Inoue at the STARDOM show and also shared some backstage pictures.
