Ahmed Johnson Claims Guys In WCW Were Tougher Than WWE

After he joined WWE in 1995 he was presented as the next big thing in WWE. Vince McMahon really tried very hard to push him on to the main events. He was a started to be pushed as an upper mid card babyface and he was involved in some of the biggest rivalries of that time. Fans have started to like him.

His feud with the Nation of Domination especially with the leader of the stable Farooq became really famous during the time. He also won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 1996 King of the Ring pay per view event after he defeated Goldust. But he could not be a big star as WWE expected since there was a common complain of him being really dangerous in the ring.

In 1999 he signed with WCW which was the biggest Rivals of WWE back in the time. But WCW did not have high plans like WWE. Even though he became a member of the famous stable The Harlem Heat in 2000. But his career in WCW did not last long as he was released from the promotion in 2000. He worked in the independent circuit after that for a while and in 2003 he took retirement from Professional wrestling.

Ahmed Johnson who is also a former USWA Unified World Heavyweight champion recently spoke to Iron-On Wrestling where he claimed that guys in WCW were much tougher than the guys in WWE. He said;

“The difference, it was the guys. Like in WWF, they cry a lot about, ‘Oh, you hit me too hard,’ or this, that, and the other. I was not even in shape when I went to WCW and I was hitting them guys and nobody ever complained, ever cried about it or anything.”

“And I know a couple [of them maybe thought that I was] shooting on them. I didn’t mean to do it on purpose but it came out that way and they never did cry, did complain, or anything. So, guys seem to be a lot tougher from WCW.”
