A brawl broke out during the match leaving Styles and Cedric in the ring. AJ took advantage of the chaos and nailed the Phenomenal Forearm on Cedric to pick up the win. The United States title match took place at the Clash of Champions kick-off show between AJ Styles and Cedric Alexander. The match storyline started with an inadvertent attack on the latter one by the OCs for nothing. The backstage assault costed Cedric’s spot at King of the Ring tournament. But he was able to seek the redemption, thereafter by defeating Styles in a singles contest on WWE Raw.

This earned him the championship match at Clash Of Champions where he showcased his skills against the Phenomenal One to produce a solid matchup. However, the ringside distractions by Gallows and Anderson appeared to be quite heavy that forced Cedric to digest the loss. After the match, the OCs delivered yet another assault firing up Cedric, even more, (courtesy WWE.com)

“Even though Styles wanted to teach Alexander a lesson, he might want to hope the lesson wasn’t learned too well. As Cedric made clear after the match, he has no intention of stopping his pursuit of the U.S. Title, and he has one thing going for him now that he didn’t before: He’s fought AJ Styles, and he knows what to expect. There’s a chance his next play for the title will look and end very different from the last.”

The mission for Cedric Alexander to take out AJ Styles continued on WWE Raw. But the numbers game appeared to be too much for him. He will certainly have to come up with a backup plan in the future weeks. Otherwise, the heel faction will continue beating him down.
