AJ Styles and Omos form an interesting team and they had been ruling the yard on Raw for quite some time until meeting up Randy Orton and Riddle. The team defeated Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods at WrestleMania 37 to capture the RAW Tag Team Championship and held it until Summerslam 2021 where they dropped the belt at Team RK-Bro.
Following that, there have been some speculations that Omos could be parting ways with AJ Styles as the two are singles superstars on Raw. Omos has learned a ton while working with the former WWE Champion. That being said, Vince McMahon’s company obviously has some alternative plans for the superstars. There have been plans of executing the same to split the team up in recent memory, but those plans changed.

The 2021 WWE Draft witnessed AJ Styles and Omos placed on the same brand and got picked as a team on Raw. But that was almost a different story. According to a recent report from Wrestle Votes, WWE considered breaking up the former RAW Tag Team Champions but obviously, things didn’t go like that.

The split for the duo was the actual plan for the Draft until “people of power” and a top RAW Superstar expressed concerns on how Omos isn’t ready for a singles run yet. Officials listened to those words, and the decision was made to keep them, together.
“WWE had seriously considered breaking the pairing of AJ Styles & Omos during the draft. To the point where that was the plan. Until people of power (including a main RAW talent) spoke up & expressed thoughts on how Omos isn’t quite ready for singles yet. And they actually listened.”
AJ Styles and Omos have been teaming since April of this year after defeating The New Day at WrestleMania 37, their first bout together. As noted, they dropped the titles at Summerslam and will get their rematch at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 21.
In recent times, there have been tons of complaints regarding the booking of AJ Styles who has been jobbing to the likes of Randy Orton or Riddle. Almost every week since Summerslam, he’s been digesting RKOs from The Viper and things weren’t different on this week’s Raw, either.
