Professional wrestling legend and former two times WWE World Champion AJ Styles who is also a former two times TNA World Heavyweight Champion recently talked about his character model in the upcoming video game WWE 2K22. He revealed whether he had any input in it. He also revealed what WWE video game he was a fan of.
2K took over the WWE video game franchise in 2013 and the first WWE game that was released under their banner was WWE 2K14. The game was however made under the banner of THQ, but before the release, 2K took over and they got the right, so the game became WWE 2K14 from WWE 14.
AJ Styles Comments On His Character Model In WWE 2K22
A lot of fans believe that under 2K, WWE video games degraded massively. The new franchise believed more in simulation based wrestling style than fighting which was mostly preferred by THQ. Even though WWE 2K19 became a big hit in spite of the simulation gameplay style.
But then WWE 2K20 was released which is vastly considered as one of the worst professional wrestling games ever made. A lot of gamers even call it the worst ever professional wrestling game. The game was rushed and unfinished. A lot of annoying glitches made the game literally unplayable.
The game was so bad that 2K had to decide to refund those who bought it. They apologized from The Gamers and the fans and they took nearly three years to release their next mainstream WWE game which is WWE 2K22. The game is going to get released on March 11th. A lot of fans are not much optimistic about this game after the terrible reception of 2K20.
But 2K promised a better game overall. They are also bringing back one of the most beloved features of WWE video games which is the General Manager mode. The last WWE video game to feature this epic mode was WWE Smackdown versus Raw 2008. This is definitely an exciting thing. Even though and other fan favourite mode is still missing which is the Story Designer mode. Hopefully WWE 2K22 will be a good game.

“Pretty much zero. They go, ‘Hey, can you stand there and let us scan you?’ ‘Yep.’ That’s about it. Well, the thing is they already have the way that they’re gonna do it. They know exactly what they want. The fans, they want a certain kind of game that’s built like that. Hey, all the power to you. I’m a big fan of No Mercy on the Nintendo 64. That’s where I stand.”
