AJ Styles recently spoke on WWE The Bump discussing his match against John Cena at the 2017 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Styles put his WWE Championship on the line in the match and ended up dropping the belt on that night against the Cenation Leader in the process of executing an instant classic.

The match lasted for twenty-four minutes to bring out the very best of both competitors. In the end, Cena was victorious and became the WWE Champion marking his record 16th world title win.

While talking about the match, AJ Styles pointed out that neither one of them ever left the ring for the entire duration of the match, something that he is really proud of. But yet it was a roller-coaster ride from the get-go. The Phenomenal One also declared this match to be the very best match of his WWE career,

“I think about this match with John Cena, and I would say, out of all the matches I’ve had, this was the best one. A lot of people don’t know this, but we never left the ring in this match. We never went outside of the ring; it was all in the ring, which is not really heard of these days. I’m really proud of that match.”
