Dolph Ziggler is helmed as one of the most talented wrestlers of the WWE who has also been very loyal to the company for over 15 years, now. Being one of the top workers inside the ring, many believed that he should have received bigger opportunities in the company but that wasn’t the case for him.
WWE mostly used him in making sure that he’d give it his all to make any opponent look good in the process. For a long time now, Dolph Ziggler is successfully playing the role of a jobber on the roster and many have filed complaints about this usage. These fans have said over the years that the Show-Off has all the tools to what it takes to be showing off.

It is WWE who made him underrated as they never utilized him to the best of his potential. Dolph Ziggler remains as a two-time World Heavyweight Champion who could have racked up more accolades or main event matches but he didn’t. While speaking to WrestleZone, Mike Chioda discussed the current SmackDown Superstar’s career and explained why he was never given a long-lasting push in WWE.

Dolph Ziggler was never ever a politically favorite star, backstage
As per the former WWE official, it all came down to backstage politics which never favored Dolph Ziggler,
“I believe he (Dolph Ziggler) is getting somewhat pushed now, but there was so many years where that kid had so much good talent and I’ve seen a lot of talent that had a lot of potential and just never made it. Just didn’t get through the political standpoint of the company. They kept giving it to Dolph and taking it right back. It’s hard.”
Dolph Ziggler has not competed in a World Title match for quite a long time. But he did win the belt on two separate occasions in the past. In 2011, he held it for less than two hours during a feud against Edge. Then in 2013, he was in the middle of a hot streak with Money in the Bank briefcase by his side. It handed him the world title but a sudden injury ruined things for him.
Last year, Dolph Ziggler challenged the-then WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules 2020 over the title that ended in a losing effort. Now, he is one half of the Smackdown Tag Team Champions with Robert Roode and he has to be contended by staying at the mid-card scene, it seems. Only time will tell if WWE creative team considers him for a major title match, down the road.
