WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defended their titles against The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) at Hell in a Cell. The challengers already possessed a win over the champions to earn this title shot. Asuka controlled the match for the early part with her pendant moves like the Hip Attack and sliding kick. But Alexa Bliss continued kicking out on the two counts.
Bliss tagged back Nikki Cross into the match as they dominated for sometimes. It was then when Sane started doing heel antics. She raked into the eyes of Nikki Cross outside the ring. Asuka locked in the Asuka Lock followed by the Half-crab to punish the five-time women’s champion. Sane tagged into the match and tried to overpower Alexa Bliss. She received a kick from Bliss and a cannonball from Bliss.
Inside the ring, Cross and Asuka tried to go back and forth but the latter spread green mist into Cross’ eyes turning heel. She delivered a big kick on Cross to get the pinfall win and become new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Asuka and Sane have been on the waiting list for a title shot for quite sometimes. But this sudden villainous turn at Hell in a Cell and capturing the championship might come handy to project them as strong tag champions.

On the other hand, the babyface run of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross did not end well, at all. Now that they will not be having the golds around their waists. It will be interesting to see whether WWE keeps their bond intact. They may end up having singles run following Hell in a Cell to bring some variation in the championship picture.
