One of the most popular events in WWE Calendar based on the Hell in a Cell gimmick was back last night with a packed card. Two matches took place inside the Cage structure. These matches took place over the WWE Universal Championships and the Raw Women’s Championship. From SmackDown, we have seen a huge tag team match where Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan teamed up. Hell In a Cell Match for the RAW Women’s Title: Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch
Following the introduction, Sasha Banks attacked Becky Lynch when the Cell door was still lowering. She suplexed Becky on the ramp and tossed her into the cage wall. Becky came back with a big leg-drop on a steel chair. She slammed Banks on a bed of chairs and locked in the Dis-Arm-Her forcing her to tap out.
Randy Orton Challenges The Rock In A Wrestlemania Match
Tornado Tag Team Match: Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper
Roman Reigns hit a Samoan Drop on Rowan and went for a Spear when Harper caught him with a Superkick. The two behemoths controlled the match until Reigns put Rowan with a spear through the announce table. Bryan hit a Running Knee on Harper to which Reigns followed up with a spear for the win.
Randy Orton vs. Ali
Ali started this impromptu matchup at Hell in a Cell with some chops but Orton raked into his eyes. Ali hit him a big boot and a Facebuster. Orton caught him with a second rope draping DDT for a pop. Ali gave Orton a big kick but ran into an RKO for the loss.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles Match: Asuka and Kairi Sane vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross
We received a new Women’s Tag Team Champion at Hell in a Cell. The challengers utilized mean-streak to pick up the new belts. Asuka had the Half Crab which Bliss broke and mounted offenses from Sane. Bliss nailed her with a Cannonball on the apron after which Asuka spread green mist on Cross’ face and hit her with a kick to pick up the win.
The OCs vs. The Viking Raiders and Braun Strowman
Another impromptu matchup took place at Hell in a Cell in the form of this tag team match. It eventually disqualified after AJ hit a Phenomenal Forearm on Braun as the OCs started a three-on-one attack on him. Ivar and Erick took out Gallows and Anderson as AJ tried to hit Braun from the top ropes. But he ran into a big right hand from Braun to get laid out.
Chad Gable vs. Baron Corbin
This was a rematch from King of the Ring tournament finale at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Corbin talked trash about Gable before the match began making him irate. He delivered a big German suplex followed by two corner Cannonballs to which Corbin replied with a Deep Six. Corbin tried to use his sceptre in the match but the referee barred him as Gable rolled him up to get the win.
SmackDown Women’s Title Match: Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley
Charlotte started this Hell in a Cell title match with a Boston Crab submission move but Bayley poked her into the eyes to gain control. He mocked Flair trying to lock in the Figure Four but instead received a backbreaker and a Natural Selection. A few seconds later, Flair downed Bayley with a big boot and bridged into the Figure Eight to pick up the submission victory. She became a record ten-time Women’s Champion via this win.
Hell In a Cell for the WWE Universal Title: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins
Rollins tried to bring offenses with consecutive dives but Wyatt caught him with a Sister Abigail on the cage wall. Rollins came back to hit a sudden Stomp on Wyatt who was right up on his feet to the champion’s shock. He delivered back to back Stomps, Superkicks, and Pedigrees on Wyatt who immediately kicked out. Rollins hit Wyatt with Toolboxes and Triple H’s sledgehammer as the referee called for the bell to disqualify the match. Wyatt applied the Mandible Claw on Rollins after the match to choke him down and end Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
