We have talked about Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in some of our previous stories. We actually believe the match has no value whatsoever. This was believed to be one of the prime reasons why WWE cut this match from WrestleMania 37 and moved it to the final showdown before the event.
It is actually a good decision. Now it is pretty clear that WWE has also understood that this match is useless and there is no reason to feature on a stage like WrestleMania. Dave Meltzer said on his Wrestling Observer Newsletter Radio episode, “Yeah, because I think they don’t wanna go more than 3 and half hours on both shows, especially since they’re starting an hour later than I expected. They’re starting both shows at 8 instead of 7.”
Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal Moving To Smackdown – Full Analysis
Maybe this is the last year we are seeing Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. This match does not take more than 10 to 15 minutes. If they do not think if this much time is not affordable for this match, not even on a pre-show, then we believe the time has come to say goodbye to this match.
A lot of fans may feel disappointed after understanding the match will be scrapped from next year, and we understand that. Battle Royals are pretty fun to watch. But this can turn out to be good news as well. If WWE is planning to stop this match, they must have been thinking something new.
We seriously want to believe in this way because this match was actually brought just to give some ring time at WrestleMania to all those wrestlers who did not get a steady booking for their biggest event. If they stop this match, they will definitely bring something new to book the free wrestlers. And if they do so, they must be coming out with a better idea.
Here is our idea if WWE thinks of something new to replacer Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal from next year. They should bring the King of the Ring Tournament back for every WrestleMania from next year. This will be an amazing idea if this true. They can start the tournament with 16 or 32 individuals from all the brands, including NXT, the closing stages shall be booked for the pre-show and the finale on the main show.
This would be the best idea if they actually do it. And we are pretty sure that fans would love it too.
