Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson who is a former WWE Tag Team Champion recently talked about the championships in WWE right now and said that there are actually too many titles in the promotion at this point.
Let us talk about the main roster of WWE at first, there are a total of eight titles in the main roster of WWE right now. We are counting only one world title as Roman Reigns has both of the World titles and he is not depending on the titles separately either. But we can count the Tag Team title separately since The Usos defended them separately.
Arn Anderson Thinks WWE Has Too Many Titles Right Now
But are there really too many titles in WWE right now? We are talking about the main roster titles only? We think the wrestling legend Arn Anderson is not saying the right thing here. Their might be eight titles in total but they are definitely not enough if you look at the roster depth of the promotion.
WWE has a huge roster in their hands, and after WWE became over obsessed with Roman Reigns, they are failing to make more main event stars. They have given away all of their world title to Roman Reigns, and Monday Night RAW has a no World title in hand right now.
Both of the Tag Team titles were being held by the Usos for a long time and the rest of the tag teams in WWE had hardly anything to do as The Usos did not defend the titles frequently. The only thing WWE has defended regularly was their mid card titles. And there was no lower mid card division in WWE either. A lot of wrestlers, who are mostly lower mid cards had almost nothing to do.
After the end of the Attitude Era, WWE never cared to make a lower mid card title. Let us not talk about the WWE 24/7 Championship. And about the women’s titles, it desperately need a mid card title like the TBS title of AEW. Much like the men’s roster, most of the woman stars of WWE has nothing to do either. So we cannot agree with Arn Anderson here, and we believe WWE requires more titles.
Arn Anderson who is a former WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke on latest ARN show where he talked about the championships in WWE right now and said that there are actually too many titles in the promotion at this point. He said;
“There should’ve been a world champion, an [Intercontinental] Title or U.S. Champion that made you the No. 1 contender for the world championship, tag titles, and a women’s championship. Like you have two companies with Raw and SmackDown, but still you could just have one champion that floats between the two television shows.”
