She became one of the most famous names of NXT of her time. In 2016 she made her main roster debut. Upon joining the main roster she started a feud with Charlotte Flair which continued for a long time. She kept on trying to take the RAW Women’s Championship away from Charlotte but she was failing until February 2017 when she finally took the Championship away from her. This was her first big championship win on the main roster. Sasha Banks has also been a big part of this feud.

First Smackdown Women’s Championship
Martinez won her first SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank 2019, and had excellent reign of around 5 months. She dropped the Championship to Charlotte Flair at Hell in a Cell. She managed to retain her championship over some of the big names of the time, but after dropping the title she went through a big character change.
Heel Turn
In only five days’ time, Bayley and an opportunity to face Charlotte Flair in a rematch for The Smackdown Women’s Championship on Friday Night Smackdown. Bayley was making her usual babyface entrance. But during the entrance, she stopped on the stage and shocked everyone by showing that he had cut off her ponytail. She then went on to destroy her “buddies.”
This incident marks the official heel turn of her. This will always be remembered as one of the best heel turns in WWE history. She entered the ring to face Charlotte Flair and shocked the world once again when she defeated Charlotte to win the Smackdown Women’s championship. This marked the beginning of her title reign as a heel.
Longest Reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion
Her Championship reign lasted for more than a year and she had been one of the best SmackDown Women’s Champions ever. Nobody expected the lovable babyface could ever play such an amazing heel persona. This reign was extremely enjoyable and finally she dropped to the Championship at Hell in a Cell. Sasha Banks took the Championship away from her.
Feud with Bianca Belair
After losing the Championship she somehow lost her main push as well. She had a number of failed attempts to win the Women’s Championship but every time she challenged for it, she lost. In the meantime, she faced an injury that sidelined her from action for months. After WrestleMania 37 she challenged Bianca Belair for The Smackdown women’s title but she was losing it all the way.
Damage CTRL
Once again she was sidelined by an injury that kept her away from action for a year. She made her return at SummerSlam 2022 and this time she formed a faction named Damage CTRL with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai. But even after forming the faction, she did not get her main event push back.
Feud with Becky Lynch
After forming the faction, she had two back to back feuds with two of the biggest names of the promotion; Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch. Unfortunately she lost both of these feuds. She even led her team at WrestleMania 39 to take on the team of Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus, and Lita. Damage CTRL lost this match with Becky Lynch pinning Bayley.
After WrestleMania 39, her position even decreased when she started working behind Iyo Sky who won the Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed it in successfully to win the WWE Women’s Championship. Right now, Martinez is working as the sidekick of Iyo Sky which is pretty much unacceptable. But we can expect her to turn on her partner sooner or later.
