Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a tense meeting on SmackDown over the championship exchange program. Things went out of the script as Flair allegedly tried to one-up her former Four-Horsewomen partner by tearing the title away. Later, she had to deal with a lot of backstage heat from the officials. Ultimately, the twelve-time champ was escorted out of the building.
As for Becky Lynch, it was reported by PW Insider that there’s zero heat on her because of this situation. Flair is the blamed one who instigated things by pulling the title away from her, a move that many believed to be done in an attempt to make her look stupid.
The situation could have been got physical as both of them had a backstage confrontation given the fact that The Queen tried to do something that was not rehearsed or even suggested by the creative. The locker room is firmly standing behind Becky Lynch in this matter as she’s the one who tried to handle things in a mature way.
“There is no heat on Lynch as it was seen as she was pushed to a boiling point, leading to her confronting Flair. Had it gotten physical, it may have been seen different but after, it was seen within the locker room as Lynch standing her ground and protecting herself after being pushed too far.”
Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch not on good terms?
In a report by Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, it was noted that the relationship between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch has been strained for a while ever since the latter one called her contemporary a “plastic” in a promo, years ago. Obviously, Flair has a sour feeling about that comment which appeared to be a below-the-belt shot,
“The Flair/Lynch friendship has been strained for some time. People close to the situation say Flair didn’t appreciate being called ‘plastic’ during a promo a couple of years ago and it’s been tense since.”
Additionally, Ringside News reported earlier that there some of the officials on the SmackDown side weren’t too thrilled about WWE trading Becky Lynch for Charlotte Flair with the Raw brand. At this point, there are a number of stories roaming around the rumour mill about the incident going down in Wichita and we can only hope to get some clarifications via some future interviews.
