The current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch who is also a six times Women’s champion in WWE recently discussed if the Survivor Series pay per view event needed higher stakes. Becky is scheduled to face Charlotte Flair in a champion vs champion match at the Survivor Series pay per view event.
Survivor Series is one of the four major pay per view events of WWE alongside Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania. There was a time when Survivor Series was a huge deal but unfortunately, it has lost all its glory and it is not as big as it used to be. Survivor Series mostly focuses on five on five elimination Tag Team matches, sometimes four on four, it is the tradition of the event.
Becky Lynch On If Survivor Series Needed Higher Stakes
The tradition still continues, but in the previous days there were good build ups behind all these matches unlike nowadays when the WWE forcefully book 5 men and women together who have zero chemistry with each other.
The matches are booked only as Smackdown vs RAW matches which did not need any special kind of build ups. Once again, Survivor Series has turned out to be such an event out of lazy bookings only.
This year’s Survivor Series had the worst booking of all time. Before last week Survivor Series was never even mentioned. A major pay per view event was on the card just after 2 weeks and WWE was not even bothered to mention it on television.
There was no booking and absolutely nothing to build up the matches of Survivor Series. And it is one of their major pay per view events. WWE’s bookings are getting lazy day by day.
Becky Lynch who is also a six times Women’s champion in WWE recently spoke to Vincent Beltran where she discussed if the Survivor Series pay per view event needed higher stakes. Becky is scheduled to face Charlotte Flair in a champion vs champion match at the Survivor Series pay per view event. She said;
“Yeah, that would be helpful,” Lynch said about Survivor Series giving something more to the winners. “I don’t know if — yeah, the old brand supremacy is a little outdated, I don’t know. At the same time, we’re all competitors. So, you always want to be the best. Whatever it is, whatever carrot they dangle.
“You always want to be the best, whether it’s the winner gets a frickin’ banana. It’s like, ‘Well, I want that frickin’ banana. I wanna prove that I deserve that banana.’ You always want to be the best. Whatever the logic is, you can make it work when you are a competitive human, which we all are. You don’t get to WWE if you’re not competitive.”
