WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix has already moved on from the WWE NXT announce team and she’s eyeing an in-ring return. Her initial reason to leave the desk was to focus on family matters but in reality, she might be gearing up for one more match with her husband, Edge by her side.

Originally, Beth Phoenix took to Twitter ahead of WarGames 2021 to announce that Sunday’s PPV event would be her final night on NXT commentary with Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett. She confirmed that she will remain a part of WWE, but she is stepping away from her weekly duties to spend more time with family. She also thanked Joseph, Barrett, Nigel McGuinness, Tom Phillips, Mauro Ranallo, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Michael Cole.

“Ahead of WarGames, I wanted to share that this Sunday will be my final night in NXT,” Beth Phoenix wrote. “While I will remain a part of WWE, I have made the choice to step away from the weekly broadcast booth to spend more time with my family. This was not an easy decision, as I have loved my three-plus years and 135 episodes with NXT and am incredibly proud of the brand.”

Beth Phoenix to set up a mixed tag team match

In an update, there are talks of Beth Phoenix getting involved in Edge vs. The Miz on RAW. She announced her NXT departure days later following the beginning of the feud indicating her future involvement. Both Maryse and Phoenix are likely to be featured in the ongoing feud, making the possibility high for a potential mixed tag team match.

Maryse and Beth Phoenix were expected to return in this week’s Miz TV segment on RAW, where The A-Lister welcomed The Rated R Superstar as his guest. The two exchanged some strong words to set up a singles contest at WWE Day 1 PPV, as of now which could be changed in due course.

In more news, it was clarified that Maryse’s appearance from last week was not a one-time deal, according to PWInsider. She will be back to Raw to help her husband out while Beth Phoenix will provide back up to Edge.
