The current WWE World Champion Big E who is also a former eight times WWE Tag Team Champion recently talked about the WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and also talked about the match against him at Survivor Series.

Every year at Survivor Series WWE organizes champion vs champion matches from both RAW and SmackDown. They also organise traditional Tag Team elimination match featuring wrestlers from both brands. But this was the first year where WWE did not focus on building of the rivalry between RAW and Smackdown.

Big E Reflects On His Survivor Series Match With Roman Reigns

It was arguably the biggest built Survivor Series in the history of the WWE. Some of the matches did not have any build up at all, such as the WWE United States champion vs The WWE Intercontinental Champion match.

The only match that got a little bit of buildup was the world Champions match, the match between the WWE champion Big E vs The WWE Universal heavyweight champion Roman Reigns.

The Tag Team partners of E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are on SmackDown and Roman Reigns kept on torturing the duo which gave a good to build up to their match at Survivor Series. Even though except of this match there is no build up for the rest of the matches on the show.

WWE universe was looking forward to this match as E is currently being built as one of the strongest men in WWE and simply as an unstoppable force. WWE is also trying to build him as the face of the promotion. So it was quite interesting to see him going one on one with the actual face of the promotion; Roman Reigns.

The match was however quite predictable. Throughout the event the match became more and more predictable as Monday night RAW won all the battle against Friday Night smackdown. It was obvious that Roman Reigns would be winning, and he won.

Big E who is also a former eight times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke to Sports Illustrated where he talked about the WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and also talked about the match against him at Survivor Series. He said;

“This was my first singles main event on a pay-per-view, and to do it with Roman means even more. Our paths were different, but after the match, we reflected on spending our days, circa 2010, together in that FCW warehouse. We were not making much money but we were very hungry.

“His strength and athleticism are real. He even got me up in that powerbomb. I thought he was going to bail on it, but he had that second surge to get me up. Until you’re in the ring with him, people just don’t fully realize how good he is. He’s an incredible performer on an incredible run, and you can’t take away anything from him.”
