The current WWE champion Big E who is also a former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion recently made a shocking revelation that almost became a member of the iconic stable the Shield.
The Shield is considered as one of the Most iconic stables in the history of WWE and professional wrestling. It consisted three of the biggest names in professional wrestling today. All of them were WWE World Champions at some points, one is even holding the WWE Universal Championship right now.
Big E Reveals He Almost Became A Member Of The Shield
The stable consisted former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose, former four times WWE World Champion Seth Rollins and a five times WWE World Champion Roman Reigns.
But was not being included into this stable any downgrade for Big E? He actually became the member of the world famous WWE stable The New Day which was nothing less than the Shield. In fact, a lot of fans consider the New Day a better stable than Shield, sometimes even consider it the biggest stable in the history of professional wrestling. So it was not a loss for E at all.
The ultimate success for E arrived a little late. But he finally won the WWE championship. It was rumoured that he was scheduled to win the Royal Rumble match of this year. But his push was postponed and he finally won the WWE championship after cashing in the Money in the Bank contract on Bobby Lashley. Currently he is holding the Championship quite strongly. There are rumours that WWE will build him as the face of the promotion.
Big E who is also a former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion recently spoke to Cincy360 where he made a shocking revelation that almost became a member of the iconic stable the Shield. He said;
“I think it worked out the best for all of us. I couldn’t fathom now being a part of The Shield. I’m sure it would’ve been fun. I’m sure it would’ve been enjoyable. I think it was really best for Roman to be in that role as the big dude, the enforcer of that group.
“That dynamic wouldn’t have felt the same with me being there. It’s hard to fathom that almost a decade ago that for one brief moment I was considered as a possibility to be in that group….my route was definitely a longer one.
“It was a longer one getting to the accomplishments that those guys had years ago. But I’m glad for the more difficult journey. We would have not had the New Day if I was a member of The Shield. The Shield would’ve felt different. I think it all worked out for the best.”
