Last night on SmackDown WWE booked a Women’s Tag Team titles unification match where the NXT Women’s Tag Team championships got unified with the WWE Women’s Tag Team championships, which made things clear that the NXT women’s Tag Team Championship division is now officially dead.
The current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler currently hold both pair of championships. We are expecting to see they receive a new unified Championship design much like Roman Reigns got. Once they have killed the NXT Tag Team championships, Surely, they are not bringing it back any time soon.

Big Star Returns On Smackdown To Team Up With Partner And Challenge For WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles – What To Expect
After Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler destroyed Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre, they called out Raquel Rodriguez who was present in the ringside during the match. Rodriguez challenged them for the Women’s Tag Team Championship and she introduced her returning partner Liv Morgan who was out of action with an injury.
So this match for the WWE women’s Tag Team Championship is definitely happening. But is it happening on Money in the Bank or any other PLE? Since WrestleMania 38, the women’s Tag Team titles have been defended in only one PLE and that was Crown Jewel. After that WWE completely failed.

Liv Morgan Returns To Challenge For The Women’s Tag Team Titles
At this moment it looks like Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are not going to drop the titles soon. Triple H has raised one simple logic, allowing someone to hold a title for a long time would bring its glory back, just like the Intercontinental Championship being held by Gunther. Rousey and Baszler received strong build so far and we are pretty sure that they are going to keep the titles for a long time.
So what are the chances of Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan? We say, there is no chance. They might have a couple of months long feud but eventually they will lose. Rousey and Baszler were already scheduled to beat Rodriguez and Morgan, but Morgan got injured and the match never took place.

The feud that could never take place would now getting booked and nothing would change from the previous decision either. Rodriguez and Morgan would soon end their team to work solo again. Surely WWE has big plans for Rodriguez as a solo wrestler and her push might start after this feud.
As for Rousey and Baszler, it looks like they are not going to drop the titles anytime soon. There are rumours that these two individuals would go against each other at WrestleMania 40. So we can expect them to hold these titles at least in the early part of next year. But we are not sure if it would bring the glory back to the Women’s Tag Team division. It can only be brought back if they value the division a little more.
