WCW legend and former WWE backstage personnel Bill DeMott who is also a former two times WCW United States Heavyweight champion recently talked about Shawn Michaels working as the Senior Vice President of the NXT and how the brand is growing under the Heart Break Kid.
In 2016, Shawn Michaels started working as a trainer at the WWE Performance Centre. In 2018 he started working as a writer and producer for the NXT which is the Development Territory of WWE for over decade. He worked in this role for 3 years before getting promoted as the Vice President of the Talent Development.
Bill DeMott Gives His Thoughts On Shawn Michaels Running NXT
In September 2022, Michaels became the Senior Vice President of the NXT. He is now in charge of both creative and development. We can now say that everything is going in the NXT is under the guideline of Michaels. In a very short amount of time he has done a fantastic job.
NXT is now reverted to the older black and gold version. Last year WWE changed the NXT to NXT 2.0. Now it is changed again after one year and experiencing better ratings and product. His best friend Triple H is currently the Head of Creative of the main roster of WWE. We seriously believe that WWE has a bright future under the hands of two of the best of friends.
Bill DeMott who is also a former two times WCW United States Heavyweight champion recently spoke to PW Mania where he talked about Shawn Michaels working as the Senior Vice President of the NXT and how the brand is growing under the Heart Break Kid. He said;
“There’s gonna be opportunities now, especially with Shawn, running the Performance Center and part of talent and all that and Brian and everybody else who’s there, Matt Bloom and everyone else there. That’s the biggest thing that is going to happen.
“There’s been a lot of talk about, well, you, there’s opportunity to grab the brass ring, and you’ve heard a lot of people say that brass ring doesn’t exist. Well, I think Paul found it. He’s put it in front of everybody’s face, and he’s gonna give everyone an opportunity. And it’s just, I think, I hope it goes back to when you had to prove yourself and get things done.
“And I think the beauty part is you don’t have to prove yourself in one night and be judged by that you’re gonna get an opportunity to not just deal with the numbers or the ratings, but let’s see who you are, what you can do and how you can relate to this new product, but I think I’m excited. I was excited that Paul was the person taking over. I wasn’t excited to hear how it happened.
