Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship from The Miz on the March 1, 2021, episode of Monday Night RAW. He’s still the champion on the red brand which makes him a record-holder.
Per the WWE, the following 3 wrestlers are the only black WWE Champions in history.
1. The Rock
2. Kofi Kingston
3. Bobby Lashley
Kingston held the Title for 180 days, while The Rock’s longest reign was for 119 days. Since The All-Mighty is still the champion he has already surpassed these two superstars in terms of length in reigns. At present, the stat shows, Bobby Lashley has been holding the belt for almost 190 days.
The Undertaker Could Appear At WWE Super Smackdown From MSG
Initially, the reign was supposed to last for only a few days as Drew McIntyre was set to win the gold from The Dominator at Wrestlemania 37. But WWE changed the plans as they wanted to churn out a top superstar from him. As a result, the reign continues as the champion toppled top superstars in his way to become even more dominant.
Extreme Rules 2021: WWE And United States Title Match Confirmed
Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg II is coming up
At present, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is reportedly planned for Saudi Arabia. WWE recently released a video where Goldberg said that he has a knee surgery scheduled soon for the injury suffered at the hands of Lashley, and he would be coming after the champion to get his payback.
Bobby Lashley locked in the Hurt Lock on Goldberg’s son Gage at SummerSlam following his win over the legendary superstar who was unable to compete due to a kayfabe storyline injury. For now, Goldberg is no longer worried about the WWE Title but only for Lashley’s soul. So the next title match showdown between the two could take place without the WWE Title hanging in the balance.
In more news, Wrestling Observer first reported that Bobby Lashley vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship is planned for this month’s Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view. Last week, Team RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) defeated WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP in the main event to retain the RAW Tag Team Championship. After the match, Lashley hit Riddle with a Spear as Orton laid him out with an RKO to initiate the title match storyline.
