To see a super athlete like Bobby Lashley doing something like that was pretty unusual for the fans. The storyline drew negative attention from the fans for all the rightful reasons. While speaking on The Wrap, the WWE Champion discussed that love triangle storyline and how he was advised to act in it.
Obviously, Vince McMahon was the one to pull the strings to set up this angle. So it was also revealed what Vince McMahon told him after Bobby Lashley was shocked by the storyline intro. Apparently, Vince just told him to relax and have fun with the angle. Now obviously, Vince was someone who is pro in doing such things on TV as seen over the years and so he knew how to execute things.

Thankfully, for him though, WWE never dragged this uncomfortable storyline for a long time and put an end to it after WrestleMania 36. He could have spread wings with MVP by his side and now he ended being a WWE Champion, a prize that he waited sixteen years to hold. Now he will be heading to WrestleMania 37 as the reigning champion.
With Bobby Lashley in a title match as one of the headliners, WWE Raw saw a bit of a viewership increase in viewership. WWE garnered 2.03 million overnight viewers for the first hour of the show this week where Lashley defeated The Miz to retain. The second hour saw that drop a bit to 1.92 million while the third hour hit a low of 1.74 million.
