One of the marquee matches at the WWE Night of Champions event featuring Brock Lesnar could be off the card. The former multi-time WWE Champion’s spree of attacks on his current rival continued on this week’s Raw but it went too far so to speak to hurt him in a bad manner.
This week’s WWE Raw kicked off with Cody Rhodes arriving at the arena. But Brock Lesnar pounced on him and put him through a table. Keeping him standing against a shutter, The Beast Incarnate hit his hand, hard with a steel can to injure him.
AEW’s Toni Storm Appears At NJPW Resurgence 2024; Kissed By Ex WWE Superstar
After around an hour, Brock Lesnar came to the ring and said that after he did to Cody Rhodes in the opening segment, Cody will not be facing him at Night of Champions as he will be medically not cleared to compete.
It was also informed that he will rather issue an Open Challenge at Night of Champions and all the roster members have to do is to come to the ring. A valiant Rhodes came out wearing a sling and ice pack in hand. Without caring for himself, he went right after Brock Lesnar only to be pummeled. He was easily victimized by The Conqueror and got even more punished by the vicious Kimura Lock.

Cody Rhodes defeated Brock Lesnar at 2023 Backlash PLE
Before this, Cody Rhodes defeated Brock Lesnar at the Backlash premium live event earlier this month. But the feud was not over. On the May 8 episode of Raw, a triple threat match took place between Rhodes, Finn Balor, and the Miz in the world heavyweight title tournament.
Lesnar came out during the match cost Rhodes the match for an opportunity at the new World Heavyweight Championship. He put Rhodes through the announcers’ table with an F5 and then challenged him to a ‘fight’ at Night of Champions.
Brock Lesnar was avenging his loss at the hands of Rhodes at Backlash. At the PLE, Rhodes busted Lesnar’s head wide open using an exposed turnbuckle and covered himself with Lesnar’s blood. The American Nightmare then picked up the win by countering Lesnar’s Kimura Lock with a roll-up for the pinfall win. This marked Lesnar’s first pinfall loss in a non-title match since Survivor Series in 2016 where he lost against Goldberg.
