Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts who is a former NWA National Television Champion recently looked back at Brock Lesnar Breaking the unbeaten WrestleMania streak of the Undertaker and said that he did not need to break it to get pushed.

The Undertaker continued and unbeaten run at the Grandest Stage of them all for 23 long years. He won a total of 21 matches in different WrestleManias and did not lose any match. It is considered one of the most iconic streaks in professional wrestling history. He has beaten some of the biggest names in professional wrestling history to cement his streak.

Jake Roberts Says Brock Lesnar Did Not Need To Break Undertaker’s Streak

Moments came where it seemed like that the streak finally can end now, during his fight with Edge at WrestleMania XXIV, or against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXV or XXVI, it seemed like the streak was in a real jeopardy. But the Undertaker somehow manage to keep his streak alive.

At WrestleMania XXX the Undertaker faced Brock Lesnar. Before the event the match card of Wrestlemania XXX looked pretty week and nobody expected listener could actually beat Undertaker as Since his return in 2012 he mostly jobbed to Triple H and John Cena. This win gave him a monster push and he became one of the biggest deals in WWE during the time. He is still very much active in the promotion.

A lot of fans believed that the undertaker would announce his retirement after this shocking defeat. But he kept on wrestling for a number of years more. He also worked on three more WrestleManias, among them he won two, and lost one.

Jake Roberts who is a former NWA National Television Champion recently spoke to his DDP Snakepit podcast where he looked back at Brock Lesnar Breaking the unbeaten WrestleMania streak of the Undertaker and said that he did not need to break it to get pushed. He said;

“No, they did not [make the right decision.] Why waste it? Because it wasn’t needed. Lesnar was already a monster, right? He was a badass, he was a monster. He didn’t need that push. If [they’d] have done it with somebody that wasn’t at that level, then I’d say ‘Okay, yeah, that’d be good.’ Because you’re bringing somebody up. To do it with a guy that’s equal with you, you haven’t accomplished anything but waste the opportunity to get somebody over.”

“If you’d have done it with Roman Reigns, yeah. That would’ve been something. But, to get the most out of that, you’ve gotta bring somebody that’s down here, up to here. That’s how you get a sustainable pop. You know what they got out of that the way they did it? Disgust.”
