Brock Lesnar was reportedly heading into a hiatus following Crown Jewel 2021 which perfectly fits up to his limited schedule with the WWE. But per the storyline, he’s traveling to Smackdown, this week to seek redemption against the Universal Champion after getting cheated out in the title match.
The WWE Crown Jewel 2021 main event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia saw Roman Reigns retain his WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman obviously influenced the finish as he slid the title belt in between Reigns and Lesnar while both of them were down.
The challenger took advantage as he got hold of the belt. But then the SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos hit the ring and superkick-ed Brock Lesnar, which gave Reigns the opportunity to snatch the belt and hit him further for the pin to win. The Bloodline then stood tall to end the PPV show.
The Undertaker Was In Saudi Arabia Ahead Of WWE Crown Jewel 2021
Per the earlier reports, Brock Lesnar was originally supposed to be out of action following his outing at Crown Jewel 2021. But then WWE made a post-Crown Jewel tweet pointing out that The Beast Incarnate is headed straight to SmackDown just as he flies out of Saudi Arabia.
“The moment I arrive at SmackDown, I will beat Roman Reigns senseless,” the tweet reads.
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns program to continue
Although WWE hasn’t officially advertised Brock Lesnar for this week’s Smackdown we assume he’d be there on the show that is scheduled from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. This also aligns with the previous report that the Lesnar vs. Reigns program is going to be stretched as they will compete in more matches, down the road.
Ringside News was told that Reigns and Lesnar’s segment from last week’s Smackdown came as fresh on their minds. “The other talk is the Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar angle from Friday and just how awesome it was.” Many officials praised this ongoing feud which helped ratings and viewership for the blue brand, as well.
Hence, WWE would be glad to book these two for some more heated segments and thereby continuing the rivalry, eyeing a couple of more big-time PPV matches. There’s no update on when these rematches would take place but Royal Rumble should be a perfect event to do so. In addition, Wrestlemania 38 main event can also feature these two shows.
