But in 2019, for the first time in his WWE career, the promotion decided to avoid him with a much awaited main event push. He had to wait for more than a decade to get this main event push. At WrestleMania 35 he went on to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE championship. He defeated Bryan to capture the world title of WWE for the first time in his career.

Kofi was nearly Unstoppable during his WWE title rain and it was famously known as KofiMania in WWE. He defeated some of the biggest names in WWE during his WWE title reign in 2019. Winning the WWE title at a stage like WrestleMania was also a huge deal.

“To me, the whole thing [KofiMania] was magic. And you look at the live events, like the number of shows that he did for WWE, the amount of TV time that he [Kingston] filled in every time, going out there and always having a positive attitude and all that kind of stuff. What a great human being, you know what I mean?

“Like I said, it was my favorite match. I think the whole thing was my favorite part of my WWE career. And conversely, the most demoralized I ever was was seeing him lose it to Brock Lesnar the way that he did.”
