Former WWE SmackDown star Carmella who is a former one time WWE SmackDown Women’s champion recently gave her personal opinion on being drafted to Monday Night RAW for the first time in her WWE career.
What a lot of fans do not know that Carmella’s father was also a professional wrestler who appeared in WWE during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He mainly worked as a jobber. He also had a short career in the Mixed Martial Art. But he was not very much popular in the world of professional wrestling and not a lot of fans know about him either. He was so unpopular that his ring name in WWE was also very difficult to find.
Carmella On Being Drafted To RAW
Carmella is vastly known as the princess of Staten Island who joined WWE back in 2013 and started working on the NXT brand of the WWE. She worked for three years on the NXT as the partner of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady who was later renamed as Big Cass.
She was quite impressive in her NXT days. In 2016 she came to the main roster of WWE during the second official brand extension of the promotion. She became a member of Friday Night smackdown roster and she became one of the fresh faces of the blue brand of WWE back in the time.
For last 5 years she had been constantly working as a member of Friday Night Smackdown roster only. This is the first time in her career she got drafted to Monday Night RAW and she would be working on the red brand of WWE. In SmackDown who won the WWE Money in the Bank ladder match. But recently she was being treated as a jobber. Hopefully, she will get more chances on Monday Night RAW. And we seriously hope she get more chances to shine on the red brand of WWE.
Carmella who is a former one time WWE SmackDown Women’s champion recently spoke to After The Bell where she gave her personal opinion on being drafted to Monday Night RAW for the first time in her WWE career. She said;
“This is our family. We spend more time on the road than we do at home, so the girls you’re surrounded with in your locker room, they become your family. I’ve been on SmackDown since the inception of the draft back in 2016, so this is all I’ve known. I take pride in knowing SmackDown has always had a very positive locker room and great comradery.
“I take a lot of pride in that because I’ve only ever been on SmackDown. That is my locker room – the girls there, I love. I’m excited for Raw because I do feel like our locker room on Raw is gonna be great too, but I think people forget – Bianca did an interview and said Carmella and I are the glue that has held SmackDown together over the last year. And of course, there’s [the reaction] of, ‘Carmella? What does she do?
“All she does is lose and she sucks and this and that.’ People forget there’s so much more that goes on behind the scenes than what you just see on TV. I take pride in knowing Bianca can go out there and say that about me. That means so much to me. I think just being a part of this environment and locker room has been so special to me.”
